“Good condition mechanically; runs great. The exterior body is straight with a newer paint job. The interior is in fair condition. Some of the passenger seat-backs and the drivers seat cushion are in need of repair; while the ceiling and the dash could use a paint touch up. (See photos). There are decals on the exterior of the bus which I have not removed.” |

Vehicle description
This is a 1972 Crown School bus in great running condition that still has an all original interior. The current odometer reading is 436,311.
History: This bus was delivered new in August, 1972 to the Franklin-McKinley School District located in the San Jose, Ca. area. It then went to a Southern California charter company before being sold to a local church in 2007. I bought the bus from this Church back in June of 2017. I found out that the Church had good maintenance on this bus during the time they had it. Oil changes and servicing were done on a regular basis. The bus was also up to date with CHP inspections (passing them) at the time I bought it.
Features: This Crown has a Cummins 220 diesel engine, a standard 5 speed manual transmission, and air brakes that stop on a dime. Bus runs well with good power and the clutch is good. An air dryer was added at some point which works fine. It is easy to shift gears. The suspension is also good. There is a working radio, and all the panel lights/dash gauges are the originals. There is power steering, and the turn signals work as they should. It also features an air horn. The tires have about 75% tread left, and 2 new 8D Commercial batteries were put in at the time I purchased the bus. There are also 2 battery shut off switches; one for each battery. All the glass is in good shape. There is a huge trunk in the back for storage, plus an entrance door pad-lock which is included.
Fact: Crown coaches are now increasingly rare and are highly sought-after. Here is a great opportunity to own a vintage Crown School Bus for whatever use you have in mind. These were built to last a lifetime, and this one still has many years left!
Disclaimer: Keep in mind that this bus is 45 years old and IS NOT PERFECT. It is in very decent condition for it"s age. In addition to being a good runner, it is also super straight/clean and complete. It"s been very reliable during the time I"ve had it.
BUS IS SOLD "AS IS," AND "WHERE IS," WITH "NO WARRANTY EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED."
