Vehicle description
1979 Crown Charter Bus Vintage Coach This is one of the last remaining Crown Buses lift. And it is a very rare Charter Bus. The Crown School Buses are almost all bought up. And many people don"t know that Crown also built a charter bus. These few remaining buses have the 50 psi steel chassis. It is not a uni-body design like the newer buses, where the aluminum body is the main structure. With this bus you can cut into and modify it to be what ever you want, tiny house, classic motor home, retro tour bus, movie prop. This bus lived it"s life in Idaho. This bus is fairly clean of rust. It is not perfect, but it is not from Chicago or Minnesota. And most used highway buses have transversed the country many times, crossing over the salted highways of Mpls, Cincinnati Detroit, Chicago and Pittsburgh. This bus is A1 compared to that. I drove this bus 1250 miles to Severy, KS. It goes down the road just fine. But needs new injectors. That is what I think. It burns diesel. I could see it on the car I towed and on the back of the bus. If want to drive it as is, you will be killing a lot of mesquitos. It should go anywhere. You could repower it with a nice 4 Stroke 60 series Detroit. Or you could just do the injectors. Or you could do the whole kit. Either way you should be machanical and handy or have the resources to take this into the next 40 years. I sold the other one I had. And it ran great. So. . You decide. There"s just not anymore to choose from. Your Charter Coach or Tiny House could be built out of a old worn out MCI Grey Hound Bus. Or you could be experiencing a piece of Americana History. I am a licensed bus dealer. And I will provide the title and all necessary paperwork for transfer. Thank you, Daniel for Frio Depot.
