2003 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 140 ” wb 2.7l 5 cyl turbo diesel Gets up to 26 MPG! With original heated Mercedes seats and cruise control. I am a Mercedes Sprinter mechanic and have owned this van for quite sometime. Before me it was part of a mechanical fleet and has been religiously maintained for its whole life. It is important to note that this year and model is the most reliable of the sprinter vans which makes it the most reliable van on the market. Which means, this van will outlast the new sprinters because it doesn"t have any DEF or bluetec emissions. Nor does it have a ton of sensors and most importantly NO limp mode!
The inside is custom built. I work for a camper van company and I can assure you that everything was installed properly. I had lived and traveled in this van for a year and not one thing came loose or malfunctioned. The inside of the van is powered by a full Renogy Solar set up, and energy is held through a brand new AGM Renogy battery (also, the van has a new AGM battery. Equipped with a Smart isolator that charges whichever battery is low). Regulated by a Renogy rover controller which you can adjust and follow from an app on your phone.The bed flips up and becomes a queen. There is a super reliable shurrflo water pump, 12 volt fridge/freezer, and a Deluxe Maxair fan with a remote. The passenger seat has a swivel and can turn around to the cabin. Also, a diesel heater with a LCD controller is located underneath the passenger seat for cold winter months. To add to that, the van is also heavily insulated. We spent one month just on insulating the van, making sure nothing in the van is touching metal and that absolutely no metal was exposed. which allows for extremely comfortable living in the heat of summer and in the cold of winter. The 110v outlet near the kitchen has USB charging ports which make it easy to charge anything. Overhead cabinets, spice rack, food-storage, propane burner (that can extend outside), and quite a lot of counter space, makes the kitchen a great place to cook. There is a ton of storage for clothes with two huge, easy to open, drawers and a closet that allows clothes to be hung. It is important to note, that brand new Vinyl flooring has been put in so no need to worry about water damage. In addition, there is a ton of storage in the back of the van, including room for ski and snowboard storage, so you can pack for a short or even and extremely long trip.
The Sprinter: Equipped with one of the highest packages, heated seats, cruise control, AC/heat, adjustable headlights (very useful on small roads at night). Limited slip dif, Fm/Am Radio, 7,000lbs towing package. Commercial grade Michellin all-season tires were recently put on. All of the windows in the van are from factory so you don"t have to worry about them leaking.
The Exterior : Van was painted silver intentionally because silver is the most reflective color. Keeping the van nice and cool during the spring and summer months. The bottom has been sprayed with rhinoliner, making it extremely durable, especially when venturing off the path less followed. Has 2 100W RENOGY solar panels on the front of the roof. letting you use the rear roof racks without interfering with the solar.
The build: Van easily go off the grid with plenty of food-storage and room for water/fuel containers to last for couple of months. there is a portable toilet that slides next to the kitchenette, and outdoor shower that attaches to the rear door. Reflectix that can be placed over all the windows to keep it cool and shady in the summer and warm and insulated in the winter. And Blackout curtains that block out the bright morning light and allow for some much needed privacy. We also use the curtains to watch movies on our small projector which comes with the van as well. 110V outlets inside and outside the van. USB outlets & DC outlets through out the van.
