Vehicle description

This 1972 Hunter Compact Jr. vintage camper trailer is an "uncompleted PROJECT" . The sought after little Compact Jr. fiberglass vintage camp trailer was recently shown in the movie NomadLand, released earlier this year (this is not the actual camper from that movie). The exposure has brought lots of awareness and attention to it"s cuteness and rarity. Please read thoroughly and view all pictures closely. This vintage camper IS NOT going to be for everybody (I fully expect that it isn"t). Please pass onto the next trailer, if you are expecting a fully functional and remodeled Compact Jr. camper. As a completely customized Compact Jr., it would easily sell for $8000+ in today"s active RV market. Although the interior being mostly gutted, the framework, flooring, upper portion of kitchen and shiny exterior gelcoat finish are all original. This turquoise (light blue) small light weight gem has it"s original gelcoat fiberglass finish, that glows with a beautiful mirror gloss shine. This rare camper was discovered and is now available in the mountains of eastern Arizona. I am not the original owner and cannot give you the 49 year history of this vintage camper. I purchased it from an older, retired gentleman that brought it over from California, to his cabin in the mountains of eastern Arizona. Based on it"s overall condition very good condition, lack of rust and shiny pristine exterior, I would expect that this Compact Jr has lived most of it"s life in a drier, moderate climate. The previous owner gutted this camper and did not get around to finishing it"s renovation. I have completed the following cleaning and renovations. The final interior remodel and design, I am leaving for right person to complete this jewel into their own style, with their own passionate vision.
All completed in March/April 2021 - Wheel bearings inspected and repacked, had brand new heavy duty Load Range "D" 8 ply trailer tires installed and ran new wiring for tail lights.
EXTERIOR fiberglass was cleaned multiple times, polished and waxed multiple times to a mirror shine. Underside frame was prepped and painted with Rustoleum black paint and a spare tire was mounted under the tongue. The two minor flaws in original fiberglass coat is a small 5" dent/crack in the lower front tongue area that was probably caused by something sitting on the front tongue shelf. Also, the roof ceiling appears to have had a standard 14" vent installed that was later removed and patched (see pictures). INTERIOR of camper was thoroughly scrubbed, cleaned and freshly painted, new window shades installed, new window screens and frames made up and put on both side windows. Have extended and filled in the original floor deck out to walls and installed indoor/outdoor carpet (ended up with sloppy excess carpet glue on the new carpet in a few areas, that I did not finish cleaning up}. Then rolled out a bamboo area carpet on the main floor area. Picked up canvas fabric to have an upper roof boot custom made (including the tan color canvas with sale, although new owner will likely chose a different color for their simple to make custom boot). The upper kitchen enclosure is original with backsplash, two burner LP stovetop and stainless steel sink are still in this camper. The lower kitchen cabinet and drawers are in need of FULL replacement. The rear original closet enclosure was also fully removed (there is now a 36" wide open area for a small dresser, free standing closet or a new custom enclosure). This Compact Jr. camper is only for the passionate and enthusiastic camper that has ingenuity and the vision to complete it with their own design and love.
Including a futon sofa/bed, porta potty and ice chest for dry camping, the original 12 gallon freshwater tank, a newer full LP tank, spare tire mounted under trailer and charged up 12 volt battery. Have the camper"s open Arizona title in hand for easy transfer. Trailer is road ready to bring home. Please DO NOT consider purchasing this camper, if you do not understand the condition and I am very happy to answer any questions you may have. There is also a large Hunter Compact Jr. FaceBook Group of over a 500+ member community, that has tons of awesome ideas, support and pictures of what can be done with this vintage camper. Take some time to check them out.
