Vehicle description

For as long as I can remember, since I was a wee lass, years before I ever even dreamed of a career in photography, I dreamed of looong road trips in a huge RV. I dreamed of river banks and forest canopies. I dreamed of the ocean breeze and the vast night sky.
I can"t believe my dreams actually came true, in this beautiful, old beast with her SOLID OAK floors.
In January 2017, I acquired this hunk of burning metal and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime.
Do you know how many people you can fit in a 31" Class C Slideout for a cross-country trip?! It"s at least EIGHT PEOPLE! I know because we all fit and all lived to tell the tale.
Over the hills and through the woods to Grandmother"s house we go. Literally. We"ve had a wonderful time visiting grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins and friends. We"ve seen the clear, blue waters of Texas" greatest lakes. We"ve seen the ocean. We picked shells off the beach in Florida, spent a whole summer on the Brazos river, and drove through mountains and valleys. We rested in the Texas desert gazing at stars further than they eye could see, listening to the quiet call of the Universe. In a few short months, we made a lifetime of memories.
It"s truly a photographer"s ultimate dream. I almost can"t believe I lived it.
But now that it"s the summer of 2019, this beauty has been sitting around since last summer and I want her to find a good home before she sits around any longer. It breaks my heart every time I look out in the yard and see her sitting there quiet and empty. We"ve moved her around the Dallas/Fort Worth area this past year just enough to keep her gears moving, but she"s otherwise been very lonely. I can"t bear to see her this way and can"t wait to ferry her off to her new home as soon as possible.
Here are all the details, the good, the bad, and the ugly. After all the hard loving she"s endured, she needs little bits of TLC throughout, which is why she"s priced to move.
First, this beauty comes with a Texas Salvage Title. The reason for this is the previous owner"s mounted television was too heavy for the wall which caused it to pull away from the frame, and yes, leak water. The frame is aluminum and fiberglass, much sturdier and easier to repair than wooden-framed units. The good folks at Thomas Vaughn Motor Co in Searcy, AR salvaged and rehabilitated her before I scooped her up as soon as I saw the listing!
Here"s a current list of items that need attention:
Window in front door needs to be set in new frame (or this frame fixed). Front step needs reinforcement! (Most major issue.) Windows should be resealed eventually, but are currently holding. Taillight housing has several busted covers, one is completely missing. Generator runs fine, but probably needs carbs cleaned again since we haven"t started it up since last year. (I removed the generator"s muffler to start the work before deciding to set this project aside.) Window treatments have been removed for cleaning and need to be reinstalled. Floor grates for central heat have been removed for replacement. Multiple busted light covers throughout. Driver"s and Passenger seats in cab need new covers. Upholstery could be updated throughout, but was professionally cleaned July 2019.
Here"s a current list of everything running perfectly:
Engine runs great. No issues ever. Roof was resealed in April of 2019. Water heater works perfectly. Refrigerator runs perfectly. A/C runs, but was never meant for Texas heat. Lol! Replaced old motor with unused NEW MOTOR in August 2017. Holding tanks sealed tight and all plumbing lines in working order. Slideout moves smoothly. Fan unit in master bedroom works. Bonus: 4.5 rolls of putty for sealing windows 1 unopened can of rubberized roof sealant 1 roll of faux copper plate wall "paper" I bought to use for backsplash in the bath and kitchen areas
