Vehicle description

This historically important Chevron B45, chassis #4 of 4, was originally campaigned by Opert primarily with Elgh and Rosberg through the 1978 season in the Labatt FA Series and Macau. The car was returned to Chevron England and successfully run by Crawford for the 1979 British FA Series to finish 2nd in the Championship with 5 wins. In 1980 the car was modified by Crawford to run the Aurora F1 Championship series and won in the rain at Oulton Park. The car was eventually acquired by Simon Hadfield who initiated a thorough restoration. Before it was totally completed the car was purchased by Jeff Wright and returned to the US where the immaculate restoration was completed by Comprent Motor Sports. The car has been sorted on track and races reliably. The build quality of this iconic Chevron B45 is exceptional. Everything has been restored, crack tested, or replaced. The tub has been stiffened with a new floor, new fuel system including ATL fuel cells, new electrics, engine off the dyno with only one weekend and one test session, new M/Cs, calipers rebuilt, hubs and bearings renewed, instruments refurbed. Rod end replaced where necessary. Three sets of the original Speedline rims rebuilt. Most of the shiny bits have been re-plated.
