Description 8.2L Detroit Diesel "Fuel Pincher" V8 (165hp @ 3,000RPM) Auto Transmission Air Brakes 198,210 Miles
71 Passenger Body Driver"s Fan 11R22.5 Tires
GVWR: 27,080 VIN 1GBM6P1F0MV101807
Condition This is a one owner SE Arkansas bus retired this summer. It has a Chevy chassis and a Bluebird body. The engine is an 8.2L Detroit Diesel made by GM. This bus runs and drives well. I drove this bus on a 1.5 hour trip home and I had two Ford buses with the Cummins 5.9L following me and this bus was able to outpace the Cummins buses by several MPH. I believe it will top out around 65mph. The bus body in fairly good shape (no rust underneath) but the exterior does have some scratches as seen in photos. The inside is in average condition- seats in fairly good shape. No broken windows and no fluid leaks visible. Tires are in the 30-40% tread range and the front tires are General brand and the rears are BF Goodrich. These older GM buses didn"t have six digit odometers so it hard to know the mileage for sure but I am assuming that it has rolled over once and the miles are a little over 198,000.
Known issues: 1. The air regulator for the brakes has a slow leak from the main unit. This causes the compressor to have to run more often. Also the air pressure will leak down once the motor is off. I took a look inside the regulator but didn"t see an obvious problem other than a slight hissing noise from air.
2. The fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge do not appear to be working or are not accurate.
3. Horn doesn"t work.
