1986 CUCV M1009 I have had this truck for approx. 10 years, and driven the truck 25000(mi) in that time span have performed the following to the truck:
The good: Rebuilt both alternators with kits from Spring Hill Electric. Rebuilt starter. Installed Racor spin on fuel filter, and extended bracket to accept larger filter, and replaced rubber portions of fuel lines. Removed resistor bank. Installed push button start, and removed faulty glow plug control card. New glow plugs every year in operation. I believe the ones in it now are Bosch. "Doghead" starter relay modification. Replaced door lock cylinders, and cleaned window and tailgate lift mechanisms. Replaced door hinge bushings.
Replaced rear main seal. Replaced flexible oil cooler lines running to radiator.
Skyjacker Shocks. 32x11.5x15 BFG All Terrain tires, but they are about 9 years old now. They still have a decent amount of trad wear left. Truck was primed, and painted in Gillespie Sand 30277 paint. An extra gallon of this paint will be included. Seals on the doors, tailgate and removeable top are about 7 years old. they don"t leak, but show some age. New windshield with internal antennae. Smittybilt console (Can hold stereo). Interior coated with Herculiner, Shutz gun spray on application. Seats aren"t great but they are serviceable, and most certainly are intact enough to be reupholstered with kits available. Batteries are Interstates, and battery wires are (2/0) welding wire, with solder slugged terminal ends. Ammo can storage box in rear. All bulbs and connections in dash have been cleaned and replaced. Starter relay replaced. Moog steering linkage "tie rod ends" Replaced front wheel bearings. Replaced CDR valve Installed new Delphi vent fan All new headlights and signal lamps.
The following will be included: Energy Suspension urethane body mount bushings (red) 1 Gallon matching Gillespie paint. Right and left Moog tie rod ends. Transmission filter and pan seal. Most every seal and bearing associated with the front axle. I intended to rebuild it, but haven"t the time. NIB CDR Valve
The bad: This truck is stuck in first gear. It may well be something simple. I however am no longer in a position to repair it. It has reverse as normal, and will have no problem being driven onto a roll back or similar. I am selling it simply because I can no longer afford it.
Some rust exists at the bottom of the windshield, as well as on the seams inside the door jamb. It is currently being kept inside, and the condition is not worsening. (see pictures) I have treated it over time to keep it a bay until I could repair it.
I have been working on this truck for a very long time, and hate to sell it, however I must. The odometer reads 28000(mi). I am guessing that to be 128000(mi) given the vehicles age. I welcome any questions, and will amend this ad should I remember any improvements that were made that I forgot to mention.
