Vehicle description
I am selling my Cherokee due to buying an RV. This is a great little airplane. I have owned for a year and a half. Have put almost 200 hours on her since I purchased. I purchased from a gentleman who spent $25k refurbishing this airplane. Here is a list of some of the items he replaced, repaired, or refurbished: main gear legs and front gear leg both magnetos refurbished All new lines and hoses ( oil cooler hoses replaced in 2017 - good for another 8 years) altimeter, DG, artificial horizon, turn coordinator and speedometer all refurbished/replaced. dual mac 1700 radios (both radios serviced in the last 36 months!) with 2 vors ( 1 glide scope - but glide scope function works intermittently) Garmin GTX327 transponder ( Altimeter and Transponder IFR cert good until 03-2019) All new wiring for 4 place intercom, PMA 6000 audio panel with Audio input and Marker beacon DME works great - as well as ADF. . I use the ADF as an am radio when I am flying! (It also works for Nav) 2008 brand new interior. new seats, upgraded soundproofing, inside looks great! New lightweight starter and new alternator new tires, tubes and brakes Spin on oil filter adapter Plane has manual flaps and hand brake - very easy to use! Paint is in great shape - bottom trim and letters are vinyl as is trim on tail. A few spots where paint could use touch up but overall very nice shape!
This plane flies great. I have flown it to Wisconsin 8 times in the last 18 months - over Lake Michigan. Never had any problems with it (Just went last weekend from Canton Ohio to Appleton, WI and back - flew 9 hours in 2 days!)
The plane has 2810 total time. Never been in any accidents or never any damage. The engine is the original Lycoming 0320- E2A. Engine total time is also 2810. Time since top overhaul is about 1300. I was going to put an engine in this when I purchased it - but it runs so smooth - I didn"t want to mess with it. At last annual (March, 2017, compression"s were 60, 61, 68 & 76. These compression"s were taken from a completely cold engine. My mechanic says that if they are all ok completely cold - they will be better when the engine is warm. Previous annual from a different mechanic has all compressions in the 70"s. I am guessing that they would be all high 60"s and 70"s when warm. I have enough faith in this plane that I fly my two children in it across Lake Michigan. . Call me crazy - but I have flown her so much - I am confident of her performance. Oil is changed every 25-40 hours. .I just put in winter oil - so she is go to go if you live in cold weather like I do. Never any particulates in the oil, we always cut the filter open - and it is always clean.
I am sure there is more I could list - but I am drawing a blank. . I am starting the bids at only $1.00 with a low (wholesale) reserve. feel free to ask any questions. There are several A&P"s new my airport if you would want any type of inspection, but needs to be worked out before end of auction. I am selling locally and reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. . If you have no positive feedback I need to hear from you before you bid or I will cancel your bid. . I have 100% positive feedback for a reason. .I guarantee this plane is every bit as nice as described, but remember, it is 53 years old. .
Thanks for looking. . Deposit to be $1,000 paid within 48 hours of close ( can be Pay Pal). Balance to be paid within 10 days of auction close and must be paid prior to pick up. cash or wire transfer will be accepted. I can deliver this to you for expenses - I have airline privileges so if you are near a regional or larger airport - I can fly back home for free! Happy to discuss!
