Vehicle description
1965 Cessna 172F Welcome!
You are bidding on a 1965 Cessna 172 F. This airplane as shown in the pictures has a beautiful paint job and also is relatively low-time, IRF certified as of May 2018, wheel pants, new altimeter, new transponder (digital ADS-B compliant) and new encoder as of May 2018 as well!
I bought this airplane near the end of October 2017 in order to complete my private pilot license at my local airport KOLU. Because I am a bigger guy, I could not safely fly with the instructor in the Cessna 152 the airport has to rent for lessons. So I bought this Cessna 172 F from a great A&P in Texas who kept this airplane very well maintained for many years. This airplane comes with the logbooks dating all the way back to 1965. Additionally, I have upgraded the Avionics in May 2018 to be IFR Certified which included installing a brand new altimeter, transponder, and encoder. She"s now IFR Certified as well as compliant with the 2020 ADS-B mandate.
Tach Time: 2902:70 (As of May 2018 IFR Cert. log entry, Add about 25 hours to present)
SMOH: 916.82 (As of March 2018 at Annual, Add about 30 hours to present) Total Time: 3900:98 (As of March 2018 at Annual, Add about 30 hours to present) *Complete Logs *May 2018 IFR Certification *May 2018 New L3 ADS-B Compliant Transponder *May 2018 New Encoder *March 2018 Current Annual - Cylinder *Compression Great as shown in logs *March 2018 - Replaced Landing Light Bulbs *September 2017 New Vacuum Pump *August 2017 New Battery *Addition of Wheel Pants *No Known Damage History Since acquiring this airplane, to bring it up to IFR specifications as well as ADS-B compliance for 2020, I have put about $12,000 in upgrades to the airplane. The parts I have mentioned above are brand new and not previously used parts. In addition to the logbooks, I will include all ADs as well. There is one recurring AD on the Cessna front seat that is often just checked at annual.
High/Low instrument control over on the right side of the picture under the fuel/oil/temp indicators. The main VOR also comes with the updated NAV/GS updated instrument as shown in the picture of the instrument panel. Since this airplane is IFR certified, the GS does work for great IFR landings. We don"t have GS capabilities at KOLU, but I have used it at KOMA, KOFK, and KGRI and works great!
It does come with an integrated Garmin GPSmap 296 as you can see in the picture and one of the VORs was removed to put this unit in. This is displayed in the pictures above.
I can definitely say this airplane is great if you are looking for a fun-flying and dependable Cessna 172. I actually did complete my Private Pilot checkride with the examiner using this airplane as well as my long instrument cross-country with my CFII.
This airplane has been hangared the entire time in Texas and has been hangared in Columbus, Nebraska (KOLU) in a heated hangar. No known corrosion has been identified.
The only reason I am selling this airplane is because my family and I need the capability of a larger and faster airplane like the Cessna 182 or 210 (really love the Cessna line).
Excellent 4-Seater Airplane, Great Fun to Fly! *AIRPLANE is SOLD as is where is with NO warranty expressed or implied. *Pre-Buy Inspections are welcome at KOLU where she"s hangared; however they must be complete Before The Auction Ends. Serious bidders only; $2,000 deposit required within 24 hours of auction close via Bank Wire or PayPal. Full payment must be received within 7 days of auction close as cash or cashier"s check.
