Vehicle description
Dodge Xplorer CamperVan - Off Road For sale is the AdventureMobile: a 1989 Dodge Xplorer Class B Camper Van that has been restored. Xplorer was a company that took a Dodge B350 chassis and built it into a Class B RV to create the perfect cruiser for the outdoors. Very clean van that I enjoyed restoring to road trip ready more than actually using much since my wife isn"t big on camping but I like projects. I moved it twice a month to keep it rolling smooth but it mostly stayed parked.
I looked hard to find this exact setup of vehicle due to its floorplan - Look at all the Class B"s today and none of them have: 1) Fixed bed 2) bathroom/shower 3) Sink/kitchenette 4) Place for 2 to sit and play cards inside. On my first trip out to Yosemite with this, it rained for 2 days straight so having a side table and 2 seats to play cards and not have to remove and breakdown the bed area each time was a lifesaver.
I originally bought this vehicle in Fall of 2017 and sent it to a local restoration shop to ensure it was road trip ready for long trips. We overhauled the engine, mechanical inspection and maintenance, upgraded lifted suspension, off road tire/wheel combo, and added graphite grey custom paint. I asked - we will need this thing for 500 mile trips, do everything we have to for it to be road ready. Internally we replaced an older AC unit with a new fantastic fan over the bed, removed and restored the cabinets and hardware, installed a backsplash, and cut a brand new memory foam mattress to fit into the bed frame area. I also have a number of things I bought but never finished installing that will come with the vehicle at no additional cost. The rear house battery was dead when it arrived so I never used the rear plumbing or electricity but the former owner said it worked when he shipped it to me. There is 1 small sink in the bathroom, 1 sink in kitchenette, a toilet, sitting shower over toilet, and external sewage tanks accessible from driver side. Lots of windows to provide natural light and window coverings or shades included for all rear, main body windows. Main, large side window opens and is screened. Back, large window opens out as well for fresh air. 3 other fan/vents to open for air as well.
Interior Features: • Bubble top headroom - I"m 6"2" and comfortably stand up and walk around • Removable, vintage cherry wood steering wheel (insurance cost went down since this is an addtl security feature) • New hardware/hinges and freshly painted cabinets in main cabin • Backsplash • Aftermarket flooring added to main cabin • Window shades/coverings for every window in main cabin • AC runs cold - Radio can be fussy but still works • 6 Inch Memory Foam Mattress - Full Sized - Used 2 Trips • New Fantastic Fan installed over rear bed - to be added to rear house battery if you buy one • Engine Manual in case you ever need it
Exterior Features: • New front engine Battery installed - Sept 2020 • New windshield wipers installed - 2020 • Off Road front fog lights - 2018 • Custom Gray Paint - 2018 - (See image 6 for a 3 inch paint blemish) • AT Off Road Tires - 265/70/R17 (plus 5th on rear) - 2018, ~600 miles • Wheels - 18" Off Road Rims (plus 5th on rear) - 2018 • Upgraded lifted suspension: +2 inches (much smoother ride now) • Rear tow hitch lockbox - Keep 2nd pair of keys secured with 4 digit code in case main keys ever got misplaced camping • 2 pairs of main keys - 1 key for side, external storage • Passenger side awing on vehicle - Never opened or used it
Purchased but didn"t install or use - Comes with the CamperVan: • Rear Backup Camera system - New in box • 5 Pack LED light package to replace lights in main cabin - New in package • Mr Buddy Heater - New in box • Hatchet - Never used • 50 Ft - 10 Gauge - Shore power cord • Class B camperVan vehicle cover - Still in plastic • Smaller - 2 Burner stainless cooktop - Ramblewood - High efficiency • Medium - 3 Burner Stainless cooking range - Windmax 28.3" - These 2 ranges were about $600. Was going to re-countertop with maple live edge and install one. • Dishwashing flexible plastic bin - maximize cleaning water • 2 Portable single burners for outdoor cooking with a few cans of new butane • First aid kit - in plastic • Will include camping coleman mugs, kettle, plates, pans, can opener, scissors etc that I used on 2 trips
If I was you - I"d look into:
• Rear, house battery to get the rear bay powered up
• After market radio works but can be fussy - might just need to be tightened or replaced
