Selling my 1991 BMY (M923A2) Custom Crew Cab 6X6. It has an 8.3 6CTA Cummins Turbo Diesel with an MT564CR 5-Speed Allison Transmission and a 2-Speed air-shift transfer case. Truck currently has 23,XXX miles on it and is in perfect running condition. Motor is healthy and strong. Starts immediately on the first try, every time.
Truck sits on 53" Michelins. Truck is full-time 4X4 and can be 6X6 at the flip of a lever. The Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) allows you to air down at the touch of a button. Once you"re done off raoding, simply hit the "HIGHWAY" button and the truck airs back up to highway pressure, all without leaving your seat. If for whatever reason, someone happens to shoot your tire, simply hit the "RUN FLAT" button and the CTIS will continuously pump air into that tire until you get to a safe location to change the tire out.
This truck started life out as a 2-door (4-door trucks were never produced). 4-door conversion was done by "Those Military Guys" in Rancho Cucamonga. I strongly encourage you to look at the "stock" interior of a BMY, so you can truly appreciate the creature comforts that have been added. Truck has power captain leather seats from a 2015 Super Duty and seats 6 people. Also has heat/AC (AC was added), Sony radio, 4 color cameras w/monitor and overhead console with dome lights and storage compartments.
Bed payload is 20,000lbs on road and 10,000lbs off-road. Towing capacity is 15,000lbs. Truck has a Tekonsha Prodigy 3 Brake Controller and a Warn 18,000lb Severe Duty winch. Please understand that this is a heavy duty truck and is not gonna ride like your Tacoma. This truck rides best when it"s loaded with weight. This truck tows beautifully in strong winds and doesn"t even flinch.
Engine-driven on-board air system with multiple air tanks allow you to run air tools or perform other pneumatic tasks. Truck gets 8 mpg whether empty or loaded. Opening up the intake and exhaust and turning up the pump will get you north of 10 mpg. Top speed is 74 mph, GPS verified. The fact that this motor is all mechanical (requires no electricity to run) makes it super reliable. This is Cummins" 1 million mile motor. Parts are readily available at just about any truck stop since this motor is used in various civilian applications. Just about any truck mechanic can work on it. Replacement military tires with 90% tread can be purchased for $100 each. Black canvas cargo cover is less than 1 year old.
