1998 bluebird ltc40. Detroit ddec12.7 liter 430 HP 6 Spd allison Auto. 565,000 miles approximately. This coach came from a local gentleman that passed in September 2018. We purchased it sight unseen with only info is what we were told from him before he passed. He told us the following: bluebird coach, ran great but it needed new batterys and some cleaning as it carried high school students on school sponsored trips. He told us the bus ran great, I agree as i have driven it 100+ miles home. The transmission shifted flawlessly, it has very good tires with 80% tread. We did a quick check of all the drive line systems and topped off the coolant. We placed 2 used batterys in it and it starts fine. It is a 12 volt system. oil pressure running warm 30 psi +. the temp guage in the dash never moved i expect its non operable. the engine temp rose to 170"s when check with a laser thermo. it will come with 2 used batterys . It drove straight with out any pulling or drifting. At about 60 miles an hour you can tell a tire has a thump from sitting. It will run 75 mph easliy. The coach has all its seats but we are planning on licensing it as an RV. It includes a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher. With RV registration any one can legally drive it. As a bus it requires a CDL with bus endorsement. This coach sale is targeted to RV people wanting to do a conversion. IT is sold AS IS. It has faults, it has a cracked drivers glass (see pics), a fogged side glass also. it will need attention and maintenance and an inspection by a qualified mechanic to be driven with passengers. It has coach A/C but i"m sure it needs servicing. Books on A/C included. Please expect to add r134 . It has a toilet, the door locks, that all i know. it needs some light housekeeping as it hauled students, It is not filthy but it is used. If your not mechanically inclined, spend more money, get a newer coach. If your looking for RV project, your handy, hard working, know some common skills and have a desire to "do it yourself" this coach is very good platform to start on. Would i jump in and drive it 150 miles today, yes i would. NO I WILL NOT DELIVER IT! I have a clear KY title in my name, If you are out of state bring your forms my sons a notary.
