In 2012, 2013, and 2014, Chrysler put together a team to run the two GTS-R cars, #91 and #93. The #91 car being offered now has several podium finishes and was at Le Mans in 2013. The #91 car was the backup car that was campaigned to run in the . . GTLM class in 2014. Due to the stringent rules and regulations within the American Le Mans Series, the cars were outfitted with special 8.0L motors. These motors were built by Roush costed over $200K. These cars were extremely competitive with the other manufacturers in the 2013/2014 GTLM program.

The #91 SRT Viper piloted by Marc Goossens turned in a qualifying time of 1:44.506 to claim the GT LeMans (GTLM) class pole position for tomorrow"s Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. Goossens will be joined by Dominic Farnbacher and Ryan Hunter-Reay for the day-long race with an overall starting position of 24th.
"We had a good run at the end of last year and we"re carrying it over! It"s awesome to be on the pole for the first race of the year. It"s a great way to start the season and a great boost of confidence for the whole team," said Marc Goossens in an IMSA report. "It"s not the most important thing to be on the pole for a 24-hour race, but it obviously helps. Its good for Viper, especially with Jonathan third in a very competitive field. Its great for Viper to be at this level after only a year and a half."
