Vehicle description
Manufactured in 1971 Total time: 3155.2, SMOH 715.2 on engine. Have partial logbooks back to 2002, originals were destroyed in a fire in 2005, while aircraft was in a neighbor"s hangar. Aircraft has 115 HP engine with a gross weight of 1300 lbs and empty weight of 902 lbs.
The last annual was done in 2013, the aircraft was owned by a former engineer and tool maker who first flew in the Army Air Corps in 1944. He last flew this aircraft in 2014, making short trips around our area. He gradually developed dementia but still believed he could fly. That explains why there were no annuals for 4 years. The aircraft has always been hangared in central Arizona since we owned it.
He entered a memory care facility in January, leaving the planes to be sold. He also had a Cessna Cardinal. My neighbor who is an IA, is checking it out with the following results:
Pulled aircraft out of hangar in mid-February, washed it and tested the engine. Oil is clean, mag check good, brakes good. Taxied it to my hangar to do a compression check. Lowest is 71/80, oil pressure #60, performed a power check, good. Installed new battery, 1.2 hours on new mag Slick wires and plugs, great mag check. Has a MicroAir 760 radio and portable Icom intercom.Aircraft was recovered with Ceconite in November 1993 according to 337. Also has a 337 for auto fuel. Aircraft will be advertised locally and can be shown by appointment. Auction may end early.
Aircraft will need an annual or ferry permit.
