This auction is for a M151A2, that has been refitted with a body by ENCORE
CLEAN TITLE.
Encores were produced in Florida in the 1990s. In place of the original M151A2 thin (18 gage) sheet metal, the Encore bodies are full welded and made of .090" Steel. They are extremely rugged and simpler in design. I have no way of knowing when this was assembled. The person I bought it from said the original vehicle has a damaged frame, so the Encore body was purchased and assembled from the parts. It is titled as a 1974 AM General. The listing format shows Ford as the manufacturer. I was not able to change that. Ford designed the original truck.
This truck is in EXCELLENT condition. It has some surface rust on the bottom, as you might expect for a vehicle over 20 years old. I took the pictures of the bottom to show that there is no rust through. The metal is very solid.
The truck as a new steering box, rebuilt distributer, carburetor, radiator, and other parts. It starts right up and runs very smooth. The transmission is quiet and shifts perfectly. The fuel tank looks new inside. Seats are in excellent condition. It has the typical Encore fiberglass hood and main body, but all other parts are M151 series.
This appears to be as originally assembled. I think the original color was 24087 Olive green. It has a good working heater, but no doors, door frames, or side panels. I have doors and side panels on the Encore I drive every day, so it can be fitted with doors and sides, modified from original parts. It has a full Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) with nets, seat belts, and solder harnesses.
All systems work well. Drives and starts well. The NDCC tire on the back spare mount was the wrong size and dry rotted, so it has been replaced with a good tire, the same size as the AT tires on it, after the pictures were taken. It has an antenna mount and base, but no antenna or radio is included.
