This is a 1985 M998 AM General HMMWV. It received a FULL service with all new fluids, including final drives/geared hubs, and filters about 2000 miles ago. I will change the engine oil and filter once more when it sells. It doesn"t leak any fluids This HMMWV has a clear Washington state title with ON ROAD registration and is insured in Washington. I am currently driving it and it starts and runs without issue. It has an original military airlift rear bumper and front brush guard. It has been fitted with reverse lights and a license plate light. New military 6tl style batteries, new paint, decals, and reflectors. Two rear antenna mounts. The paint job is decent, for a flat paint, military hmmwv paint job. I don"t want to misrepresent it as a high end car paint finish. Don"t believe other sellers who say their hmmwv is street legal when they don"t have basic things like a license plate light.
This unit has just under 58K miles on it, however the government had it refurbished in 2006. This unit has a newly replaced GEP 6.5liter engine in it. Originally these were built with the GM 6.2 diesel. That was eventually replaced with the Gm 6.5 diesel. In 2000 Gm began making the Duramax diesel and the 6.5 became obsolete. However General Engine Products, or GEP, Continues to manufacture brand new 6.5 diesels to this day only for the military. So having said that, the engine was most likely installed in 2006 when refurbished, however I do not have a way to honestly say how many miles are on this engine.
