Vehicle description
This is a late model Air Force M49a2c with the dual circuit brakes. Basically a m35a2c with a 1200 gallon stainless steel tanker added instead of the cargo bed. Unlike the older deuces with single circuit brakes a limited number of these newer trucks were built specifically for the Air Force in the mid 80s by AM General.
Trucks starts, runs, drives, and stops good. All lights and gauges work. Has approx 16k miles and 500 hours. Tires are Goodyear G124 radials and are in very good shape. Equipped with a LDT-465 Multifuel engine, C "whistler" turbo, 5 speed trans with 2 speed transfer case, air engaged front axle, and cab heater. Has the transfer case mounted rear facing PTO, but the pump was removed before I bought the truck. They were using a small gas fired pump in rear storage area which they kept.
Tank has been triple washed and was being used as a water tuck by the forest service. Tanker is currently full of water and hasn"t leaked a drop. Price is $6000 with clear title and located in Franklin NC. Non refundable $200 PayPal deposit due within 24 hours. Remaining balance due in 7 days. Can store as long as needed once paid in full.
