Up for auction is a 1984 AM General M931A1 tractor truck - Odometer reads 13 hours and 34,390 miles. NHC-250 Cummins @ 250hp/650ft/lbs, Allison MT654CR 5 Speed automatic transmission. It went thru IROAN (inspect, replace, only as necessary) reconditioning at Red River Army Depot. The truck has had only 60 miles put on it since then. This truck came out of Red River Army Depot with a bad motor making noise due to improper rebuild. It has since had the engine replaced with a low hour replacement engine that came from a running parted out truck. Engine has under 100 hours on it. The engine also has a dual fuel line system added to it for increased power and throttle response.
The truck runs and drives as it should. ABS is operational, Transfer case Hi and Low is operational, 6x6 is operational. All lighting on the truck works as well. Currently the truck has 14.00-20 Goodyear AT2s on it at the moment. These were upgraded tires from the stock ones that were on it, the originals were flat spotted. These can be upgraded to new Goodyear MVT or Michelin XML in size 395/85/20 for extra costs.
The truck is shown with a hard top however it will have a soft top installed prior to pick up. The hard top has some roof damage from a tree and it does leak so it will be replaced for a soft top. It has some small rust spots on the truck but overall the truck is a 9 out of 10 on the scale of niceness. The M931 tractors with the NHC250 are among the hardest working trucks that are used by civilians. loggers use these trucks to pull loaded trailers out of the woods. Something an A2 version of these trucks struggles to do. The NHC250 is a naturally aspirated engine with no turbo but it was the king of the road in the early 70s running millions of miles pulling heavy loads. The 931A0 and A1 tractors can easily handle 80 to 105,000lbs offroad on towing.
