Vehicle description
993 AM General Humvee M998A1.
Starts and runs great , I recently drove it back from Chambersburg PA over 100 miles with absolutely no issues . Tires have at least 75% tread depth , I think more but would rather be safe and say 75% .I have a full size spare included also with plenty of tread , all 5 tires are a matching set .
My Humvee literally starts on the first turn every time wether it has been parked for a week or an hour , it is the best starting diesel I have ever had , I guess that is due to its 2011 rebuild .
Transmission shifts nicely as it should . It steers straight going down the road when you let go of the wheel. The chassis is good condition .
All the gauges work while the engine is running, including oil pressure , temperature ,voltmeter and diesel tank . This is the 2 door troop carrier style. It has fold down troop seats in the rear. It can easily be converted to a 4 door version. The wells for the rear seats are there in what is now the bed of the truck and the filler panels on the side can be removed to install soft doors , I was told the rear seats are actually in place under the metal floor board filler pieces but I have never bothered to look , I have a 4 door soft top included which is pictured should you decide to convert it to a 4 door , you will need to purchase 2 rear soft top doors which are around $400 used .
The brush guard is a little bent and has some rust on it - it could be cleaned up and painted or replaced I don"t even keep it on the Humvee so it has never bothered me .
The parking brake could use adjustment on a steeper incline it has not been holding as it should recently , used to be fine so I am assuming an adjustment issue .
My Humvee has a clear Virginia title.
Some states will require a visual inspection from the MVA to verify the VIN number as it only has 6 digits instead of the 17 or however many they usually have it varies from state to state .
IF YOU ARE NOT A US CITIZEN I CANNOT SELL IT TO YOU . You are welcome to come and look at it . I drive this truck and it feels safe and dependable. GM 6.2 liter diesel with 3 speed automatic transmission. 4 wheel drive/2 wheel drive. Has approximately 37,000 miles on the original odometer , obviously the vehicle has far less since it has been rebuilt .
I would say it runs comfortably up to 55 miles an hour beyond that it will start raising the RPMs as it only has a 3 speed transmission , if you want to do more long distance driving you can put an overdrive transmission in it which is around $1200 for a rebuilt unit on eBay as I was contemplating it myself so I could run it down to my house in Florida . . It has a great turning radius it looks wide but no wider than a dually in fact I think it is narrower than your average Dually it is surprisingly nimble in traffic. It has a heater with defroster that does work , fam motor blows as it should . The wipers work too.
Please feel free to call or e-mail me , it is priced to sell as I have my eye on another toy and as much as I want to I cannot have both .
