Vehicle description
Beautiful 39 Pre-War Chief 65-LA. The LA is powered by the Lycoming O-145 65hp engine.
2681.0 Total Time In Service 295.3 Time Since Overhaul
This aircraft was in storage from the 60"s until it was restored in the Late 90"s. I have all logbooks since the restoration as well as the FAA (CAA) documentation CD with all historical maintenance records. The aircraft has always been hangared. It is currently based at KHQU and will be sold with a fresh annual inspection. Photos of logbooks can be provided upon request. I"m a CFI and can provide a tailwheel or light sport category/class endorsement with the purchase as well if needed. This aircraft is Light Sport eligible. I purchased the aircraft in 2008 in Detroit and flew it to Georgia, no problems. I fly professionally and just don"t fly it that much anymore. I welcome any calls with questions or offers. 7zero6 79nine sixone81.
The only issues: the parking brake doesnt work (never has since i"ve owned it), left wing was pushed into a hose reel in the hangar - it was repaired and doped/primered but never painted (about 4x4 patch pictured), left wing bow had a fabric repair patch also a few scuffs on the right wing bow - both before I purchased it , a few places the paint has come off or become discolored but in an 8/10 condition.
Since I have purchased I have added/repaired:
Complete New Panel to include original Stewart Warner backwards tach/combo guage, Aeronca Airspeed, Aeronca Period non-sensitive Alitmeter
New Thicker 3-piece windshield custom made by Great Lakes Aero Plastics
Genuine Aluminum Aeronca Wheel Pants painted and decals to match
New Prop Seal
New Rocker Cover Gaskets
New Custom Seat Cushion with Embroidered Logo
Fuselage Laminar VHF antenna wired for handheld radio
Vintage Sensenich Prop Decals
