Vehicle description

Up for sale is an 80% steel tubed fuselage Jurca P-51 replica restoration project. The project was started in the late 70"s and began flying in the 80"s. It made several Oshkosh trips and numerous other airshow trips. It"s last flight was in 94", afterwards it was taken apart for an engine overhaul, panel upgrade, and a few other modifications. The owner/builder became ill and was unable to finish the repairs. This aircraft is mostly complete. To my knowledge all that is missing is a prop, spinner, lower cowling, and the wing-root fillets. All landing gear is complete. Cooling system is complete, inner and outter gear doors are there and in very nice condition. Doghouse scoop is there, upper cowling with coolant header tank is accounted for. Cockpit is complete and it has toe brakes. This plane was built as a two seater and still has the rear seat mounts with seat belts. The engine is a 400 Ford and it is assumed that it is a core needing rebuilt. The reduction unit is a Geschweinder geared unit that turns very smooth and is tight. I bought this aircraft from the family of the original builder in 2016. It has it"s airworthiness certificate and is currently registered in my name. I simply have too many irons in the fire and I"m already consumed in another Mustang project so I"ve decided to sell this one. It is currently in dry storage inside a reefer semi-box which made taking clear pictures very difficult. The airplane is not in the way and I can continue storing the aircraft for the new owner for an agreed amount of time. There will be no hurry to get it moved. The aircraft and all its parts will move easily on a 20" car trailer. It was featured in the 1991 edition of Sport Pilot magazine. It"s a very nice article that gives the story of the pilot and the construction of the airplane. There are roughly 150 hours on the airframe. All build papers and plans are included. Here"s a rare opportunity to have a very scale Mustang project with actual flight time. A $500 deposit via PayPal will be required at the closing of the auction, full payment within 7 days. Wire transfer or cash preferred. Again, there is no urgency to get the aircraft moved. I"d hate to see it get damaged attempting to transport it in haste. Please ask questions.
