Formula Ford Race Car(s) Ex. Jim Russell Racing Formula Mitsubishi"s *these are the very (successful) cars that Jim Russell Racing used as trainers prior to students/racers getting into the Formula Mazdas. These cars make excellent track day cars- very reliable and inexpensive to run. * there are a total of 3 chassis, bid/buy this auction with a couple of friends and go out and have some fun together!
This Auction is for (3) Three Chassis; 2 used and 1 new *with enough parts to complete all 3 into rollers and 2 with complete bodies, + a spare or 2.
These are the simplest/purist of Formula Cars, there are no traction aids, abs, power steering, etc; these cars were designed to let the driver experience and learn how to drive at the limit. Hands down, the most fun, at the least cost one could ever hope for!
Each Car Has:
Gauges: RPM, Water Temp. and Oil Pressure Gauges in the cluster- you can add more and/or install a data acquisition system that would also give you timing and much more (but, not necessary)
Dual Radiator System: keep the car running cool all day, in any climate, without the need of fans. The radiators are easily sourced as they are the same as a early model VW.
Carburetors: Single Weber DGEV Down Draft Carburetor, you can fit is with a nice K&N Air Filter too. These engines were originally Fuel Injected, but they were converted to Carburetor to be closer to the original FF styler racers. In all the spares there are actually the Original Fuel Injection Systems/Intakes.
Dry Sump Oil Systems: Dual State with AN fittings feeding the external oil pump and sump tank. The lines are/should be Steel Braided as well.
Gearbox: INCLUDES (2) Two Hewland (Webster) Mk8/9 4 Speed Gearboxes (with reverse)
Engine: This 4 Cylinder Engine was originally out of a Dodge Colt Vista/Mitsubishi Eclipse or Galant. The fuel injection system was replaced with an intake and Weber carburetor.
Brakes: The front end assembly/spindles are off a Triumph Spitfire/Formula Ford
Shocks: Front and Rear are Koni (or, equivalent). Coilovers. Some of the springs, and shocks, have been refurbished.
Rims: Several 15" Rims, with old stock tires; there are 1 piece aluminum wheels and 3 pieces aluminum as well.
THERE ARE SOME MANY SPARES, I HAVE SEVERAL BOXES OF NOS. .BRAKE ROTORS, PADS, SPINDLES, A-ARMS, RADIUS RODS, SHIFT SHAFTS, THROTTLE CABLES, REAR UPRIGHTS, out of date FUEL BLADDERS, ELECTRONICS, etc; PLUS, so many used parts, rev limiters, intakes, exhausts, wheels, calipers, etc.
BOXES, AND BOXES, AND BOXES of Parts. .their are WAY too many to list.
I also have a couple rolling stands, several A-Frame chassis stands, etc
