This outdoor sports-focused conversion was built on a 2018 Ram Promaster 2500 159", high roof, gas, 6-cylinder chassis. The van is front-wheel drive, and with the addition of studded tires, it is incredibly capable in the snow. Extra overhead storage, backup camera, parking assist, bluetooth connectivity, OnStar and GPS capabilities, and driver suspension seat make it enjoyable to drive and park. With only 18,000 miles, the van is still under transferable 3-year (36,000 miles) factory bumper-to-bumper warranty and 5-year (60,000 miles) powertrain warranty.
The interior is equipped with the essentials for living comfortably and hauling ALL your bikes and/or outdoor gear. Perfect for a couple or solo traveler. The living space is sleek and quiet, with padded wall panels finished with a durable outdoor fabric, sound dampening, and insulated with all-natural Havelock wool insulation. The kitchen cabinets are framed with solid extruded aluminum and paneled with custom walnut veneer panels. The floating bed frame is powder coated welded steel. Having no wood components in the build completely eliminates annoying squeaking or bumping of the furniture from vibration and movement while the van is in motion. A large sink with running water, gas stove, Dometic fridge/freezer combo, two-zone dimmable LED overhead lighting, natural latex mattress, large closet, plenty of storage, and privacy curtains make the living space very comfortable. A Maxxair ceiling fan and CR Laurence sliding kitchen window provide ventilation to cool the space at night.
The large garage area under the bed, accessible from the back doors and closet inside the van, has its own overhead lights, 12-volt and 120-volt outlets, and sturdy 5-foot aluminum sliding trays for easy loading of bikes and storage. The 29" x 65" bike tray fits up to three mountain bikes using front axle mounts, with room for accessories and gear. The 19" x 55" storage tray can fit up to six 18-gallon Rubbermaid bins. Both trays slide all the way out of the van, so you can access storage from the very back of the garage. Plenty of leftover wall space provides options for hanging helmets, packs, extra water, etc.
The cabin"s power system includes 250 amp-hours of deep cycle AGM 12-volt battery energy storage, with space to add up to two more batteries to the bank. Batteries are charged with 660 watts of rooftop solar and an MPPT charge controller. A 2000 watt true sine wave inverter efficiently feeds 120-volt loads like laptops, hair straighteners, blenders, etc. Outlets for 12-volt and 120-volt loads are installed in several places throughout the van cabin and garage. The power system station is easily accessible from inside the cabin.
The van was built keeping personal and environmental health in mind. All-natural, chemical free, non-off-gassing products and methods were used as much as possible. The power system can be fully disconnected at night to sleep EMF free, if desired. I would suggest putting blue light filters on the bed-zone puck lights as a nighttime lighting option. No windows in the sleeping area of the van reduces intruding lights and sounds at night, so you can sleep without interruption.
