Vehicle description
I"m pretty proud of how this came out. Last year I bought a new 40x48 trailer and narrowed it 6 inches. I had a professional welder extend the tongue 24" and he did a beautiful job. You can see the new section in the second picture hidden under the car topper.
The deck is 1/2" exterior grade ply. And I got a really great car topper. Its big but still aerodynamic. Its 76" long x 33" wide x 16" high and holds 16 cubic feet of your junk. This is way more than one person needs and should be perfect for two. It has struts to lift the top open clamshell style and is lockable. I wouldn"t call it waterproof but after installing some weatherstripping it kept most of the road spray out.
Here"s the most awesome part. I welded two jerry can mounts to each side of the trailer. When I go on big trips I take two 10L (half size) jerry cans with me. Having that extra gas saved my butt two times! Or you could do one jerry can of gas and one of water.
I took this trailer from New Hampshire down to the Tail of the Dragon. It was great, the trailer was awesome for the entire trip, never even knew it was there. Then I took it up to Canada and around the Cabot Trail. Not a single problem. Its so great having a trailer I"m building a new one. It"ll be lighter, stronger, and ride smoother.
Right now the trailer has brand new 12" tires on it. They"re a tight fit under the fender. If you prefer I have 8" tires, I can knock off $50 for that. The first 8 pictures show it with the small tires, the rest are how it looks now with the brand-new 12"ers. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I think you"ll be impressed. Thanks for looking.
