This is important because there is an "ideal" position for the fifth wheel"s axles to be located to maintain the best towing characteristics. Move the axle several inches either forward or backward and it will seriously affect towing characteristics. Lifestyle is able to put axles in ideal locations without having to penetrate or cut the frame. Any kind of substantial cut or breach to the frame compromises the integrity and strength of the frame. Other manufacturers must position the axles so as to avoid the structural members that support the slide or cut frame members to accommodate axle.
