Vehicle description
The G40R is S/N 013 of approximately 150 vehicles. It has been in two private collections, accumulating 4,513 kilometers on the odometer. It is a custom order car built in Garforth Leeds, UK, in 2013. It has a 5 piece hand laid fiberglass body (Nose, main body, doors, and trunk). The car is FIA certified for racing, but has never been on the track. It is hand built with over 220 pieces of DOM steel comprising its roll cage chassis. It was street legal in the UK, but due to U.S. EPA restrictions, has been imported under a Race Only Waiver, and is intended for racing or Track Day enjoyment. The car weighs 1,800 Lbs, with a Ford of Germany Duratec HE 4 cylinder twin cam engine (larger ports and valves) producing 200 Bhp at the flywheel and about 175 at the rear wheels. The G40R is very low slung, RHD, with a Mazda 5 speed manual transmission, and LSD differential. It has a top speed of 140 MPH. It has Ginetta branded 17x7 wheels sporting Michelin Sport 3 205/40/ZR17 tires. Brakes are Ginetta branded AP 4 pot calipers and rotors with Performance Friction high performance pads on all 4 corners. The E-brake lever actuates a small mechanical caliper on each rear rotor. The G40R has a disabling security system which senses the RFID key fob when placed in the key cup located in front of the gear shift lever. The car is started through a simple multiple push button sequence on the center dashboard cluster. It is equipped with both heater and A/C functions, and both forced hot air and electric windshield defroster functions. There are all the usual road worthy lighting functions including fog lamps. There are multi-function windshield wipers (intermittent, and dual speed continuous). Suspension is dual wishbone with adjustable coil-over dampers. There are both main and tender springs for road or track, with height adjuster threaded bodies. It has very responsive rack and pinion steering, with removable racing wheel. Mechanical crank roll up windows enable proper air flow. Refueling is done via lockable race oriented filler mounted on the driver-side sail panel. It has a 45 liter racing fuel cell. The Ginetta branded ITB electronic fuel injection breathes through a cone style washable filter located in front of the aluminum race radiator to ensure cool intake air. The engine management is done through a Specialist Components ECU, through a Ginetta Factory tuned configuration. I have the proper cabling and laptop adapter cable, and the software is free and downloadable from the SC website. I have updated the configuration per Ginetta Factory specification to current standards. I will gladly provide a CD with both original and current configuration files, if needed. The car is in excellent condition, showing minimal wear on all components. I coordinated with the Ginetta Factory to obtain spare fasteners, suspension bushings, the latest set of suspension dampers, and replacement foam blocks for the fuel cell (all still in their boxes from new inventory stock) which convey with the sale. I imported the car this past Spring after the U.S. Government shutdown. It was transported in a sealed container for best protection to the Charleston, SC port. The car is stored in a climate controlled garage under our house, and has been fully serviced with all the factory specified items, so it is fully ready for the buyer"s use. The G40R is a delight to drive, very light, extremely responsive and agile. The drive train is as-new, very tight and positive in all regards. After receiving the car, I have developed medical conditions that prevent me from being able to get into and drive the car, necessitating its sale. The car is registered and insured, no plate, in NC, and am waiting on receipt of the title. I am looking for a buyer who will continue its history of conservation and fun driving experiences.
