Vehicle description
After 11 years and 70,000 miles of joyful adventuring in our View, we are reluctantly offering it for sale. (Some health issues are making travel difficult.) We bought it new and have treated it very well, even building a special garage to house it. As a result, it is still in very good condition, protected from the sun whenever possible, with only normal wear and tear. No children, smokers, or pets have been in it. All service records have been carefully preserved. This is the perfect sized RV, big enough to be comfortable for a couple, but small enough to fit into small super-scenic state park sites like the one shown in the photo. As we were able to buy a gasoline engine in 2007 (the only time that was a Sprinter option), we anticipated many of the problems faced by diesel engine owners, and have been very happy with the gasoline engine’s performance. Fuel prices have varied, but usually we have paid less to fill the tank than if we used diesel. Mileage is less, averaging 12.5 mpg, but maintenance costs are also much less. The H model has been very satisfactory, with the bathroom being a little more accessible and larger than other models’ are. Because we bought it new, we could specify the washed maple cabinets and simple fabric design that we wanted. (Fabric is more comfortable in hot weather!) We had the good German swivel installed under the passenger seat. We are careful drivers, seldom driving above 55 mph and driving gently. This has led to minimum stress on us and on the View. Living in California and traveling to the northern and eastern states only in summer, we have never subjected the View to the road salt that damages so many vehicles. The original hard-to-reach pantry shelves have been replaced with sliding wire baskets from the factory. This greatly increases the useable space in the pantry and the convenience of getting items out of it. Almost all the original lights have been replaced with LEDs. The carpet is still in good condition, because we have left the plastic covers on. There are two 6V HD batteries. We recently replaced the old, stained awning with a new one. The asking price is only $45,000. All requests for photos and questions will be cheerfully answered. Our email address is [email protected] .
