* THIS IS FOR SALE AS IS - BUYERS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO COME CHECK OUT THE TRAILER IN PERSON - PLEASE CONTACT ME AS I CAN PROVIDE A SKYPE/FACETIME WALK THROUGH FOR MORE INFO ON THE TRAILER! *
This is the bunkhouse edition of the 28" Travel Trailer. It is light weight (4600 lb empty) and tows really well. It requires some TLC to make it ready for the next owner to enjoy and would be a great opportunity for someone to put a little sweat equity into and have a great trailer for their family or sell for a profit.
The good:
This trailer has a fully functional plumbing system, refrigerator, stove, slide, AC, and electrical system. Recently replaced the wheel bearings and added a slide awning cover. Tires are about a year old.
The Bad:
There is typical cosmetic issues for a trailer 12 years old. The decals and paint are very faded. Most of the interior is in acceptable shape however the mattresses could probably use replacement or covering and the cushions are a little dated but not stained or torn.
The Ugly:
With the nice weather this last week I went out to replace the floor with stick on vinyl wood planks. I started at the front and worked my way back. When I got to the back of the trailer I pulled up the linoleum and noticed large sections of mold. It looks like a seam failed and allowed water to get underneath the flooring and being trapped there caused extensive mold damage you can see in the pictures.
I treated the wood with borax and concrobium mold killer and inhibitor for the exposed portions. Unfortunately, where water seems to be coming from (the back or rear sides) it would require pulling the back bunk and bath out to pull up the linoleum - a task I simply do not have time to do.
The damage appears to be relatively recent as rot has not set in and the wood still seems structurally sound. I would just pull the back portions up and treat with more borax and mold inhibitor then seal it all in with primer and install flooring back on top. During the recent rain, it doesn"t appear to be actively leaking.
For someone with the time and expertise, this would be a weekend project and they could easily have a nice trailer. A similar trailer would sell for $9-10K depending on the condition. I am selling this as is for $5500 and I have a clean Texas title in hand. I will also include the remaining flooring which is enough to finish it off. I also have a weight distributing hitch for sale for $200. Also interested in trading for a small popup camper.
Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to come look at it. Item is cross posted. I can help arrange for or offer transport from Hampton, VA (Near Norfolk). Thanks!
