Vehicle description
This is my personal work truck, I am getting ready to retire and no longer need a truck this big! I bought this as a cab chassis brand new and took the chassis up to northern Indiana and had the bed custom built to my specs at Rockport. It is a Rockport Workport bed. It measures 13" long, 61" of head clearance on the inside - room enough to stand up but I didn"t want the outside to be so tall it was hard to load pipe etc on top. The top is a see threw material so light gets inside to see well then covered with expanded aluminum that covers the whole top to walk on and be able to strap down your cargo. It has 2 built in ladders on the back so you don"t have to drag out a ladder to get up on top. It has 2 pipe doors one on each side to slide things in up to 13" long! All door hinges are greasable with zerks. The side boxes are 23" deep. There is a large compart behind the cab that measures 3"4"tall X 4"6" wide that goes all the way threw the bed side to side. In the rear I wanted a clear space large enough to haul plywood etc so it measures 8"5" long to rear door X 4"2" wide so you can lay sheet goods down flat and close the rear doors. I had E channel put all the way around the rear inside to be able to strap cargo to the truck walls. I had the bed all lock with either a dash switch or by remote so I could just hit the switch and lock up every door on the truck. The truck itself is a 3500 SLT (not the cheap model). It has sliding rear glass, carpet, all power widows etc, over head console with temp etc, heated mirrors, engine heater, It is a cummins 6.7L with the big aisian 6 speed automatic trans. It has a class 3 hitch with trailer brakes. I have a backhoe that weights approx. 5000 lbs and this pulled it with the truck fully loaded like it was empty. I have never had the truck in the shop for anything other than a couple recalls and normal maintenance such as replacing batteries once, replacing tires and brakes as needed, Have replaced both u-joints and that"s it. Now the things I know is wrong with it. It has a small place on the grill where the chrome is wrinkled - shown in pic - it has the passenger side front clearance light broken off ( thanks to a portable basketball ball goal left to far out in the street), The broken plastic corner has been fixed on the inside with epoxy but needs a new light, Some of the doors need adjusted and some of the latch catches replaced to make the doors tightly shut . The drivers seat has a hole worn in it from my rear that"s covered with duct tape about 2" long, It does need a set of tires in the next few months as they are getting pretty worn down. The rear bumper if you wanna call it that - the aluminum step is broken in a couple places and needs replaced. The wheel wells inside the rear of the box need resealed - when its raining water can leak under them, I sealed them once before with roofing tar from under the truck bed and it worked fine. Probably the best thing would be to take the wells off and seal good and put them back! This truck runs and drives like new, engine and trans will pull anything. It has 84719 miles on it as of today, I have kept the oil changed etc as recommended. I have worked outta all kinds of truck set ups all my life and put all I had learned into this one, If theres a better set up I don"t know what it would be. I am a plumbing contractor. A set up like this new today would cost you over $60000.00, I want a fraction of that for this one and its ready to go! 4174346026 if you would like to talk about the truck! I am willing to help anyway I can as far as shipping if needed but at your expense!
