You are looking at a rare 2007 Freightliner M915A4R2 that was produced under the USARC (Us Army reserve Command) Glider Kit program specifically for the US Army Reserve. This model truck used the best features of the older M915 truck (engine and rear axles) and combined them with a new Glider kit consisting of upgraded cab, modern Allision transmission, new chassis, new front axle, AC, and more to produce a 0 hour new truck. This R2, 2nd revision, truck added additional features such as newer transmission, remote control mirrors, better diagnostics, LED lights, and much more. Only 4,100~ trucks were made of all models and most are still in service.
This truck has been inspected by a local Freightliner dealer and was officially approved by both them and Allison to unlock the 6th gear (Overdrive). The truck was originally rated for 65mph in 5th gear by the TM but is now able to safely maintain highway speeds of 88 mph on a 3% slope under full load. There are NO EMISSIONS or ELECTRONIC LOGS on this truck. It was designed to utilize the best of Cummins and Allison with the creature comforts of Freightliner. Compared to all other military semi-tractors this is not only the fastest but also the most commercial friendly unit. Parts are available through dealers and local parts suppliers. Even the rims/tires are modern 11r22.5"s for ease of maintenance.
The truck starts, runs, and drives. It has a bonded title in my name and has been used for personal short hauls. It has a sliding civilian 2" 5th wheel and can connect to both civilian and military trailers alike. The truck is equipped with an exhaust brake, inter-axle diff lock, and Eaton Vorad proximity sensor. The cab is comfortable with AC. It has space to install a radio, additional storage, and air ride seats. There"s 2 storage boxes for tools, chains, etc. Tires are 95% with spare.
Overall the truck is in good mechanical health and should be driven more. With the A/C, 6 speed OD, and air ride seat it"s a dream to drive. You won"t want to drive your M35A2 ever again.
