Testing the waters on selling my coveted Duramax short bus. 139,000 Miles, 23ft long, interior height is 6ft 3", it"s one of the few short buses I can stand anywhere in and clear being 6ft tall, it"s 92" wide inside. It runs and drives phenomenal, watch the video linked below. it also gets 18MPG on the freeway. The AC is very cold, The tires are in good shape. Really can"t stress enough how well this drives and rides, I"ve been driving it a lot and it"s a pleasure, bluebird builds a nice body that doesn"t rattle going down the road, the engine is super quiet on the highway, cruises effortlessly as fast as you want it to go, it"s built as good probably better than a OE chevy van.
This would make a perfect RV conversion to travel with, I already have it titled as a motorhome with a clean title. The engine in this is worth ATLEAST 5k by itself (just look at duramax engines that sold on ebay), the little extra cost of this bus will pay you back in fuel savings many times versus a more common gas bus of this size. Not to mention the longevity and reliability of it. It"s one of the most desirable years of the Duramax engine I don"t really need to try hard to sell ya on it if you know anything about it.
This bus was inspected and approved as an actual school bus for 2020 (by 2 different agencies, PA state inspection, and school bus inspection, who are both very picky about rust) and it was still hauling children around before COVID. The bus has a good coating of surface rust underneath, it"s a northern bus, but everything important is solid, the frame, subframe and floor are solid. PLEASE understand what I"m saying:
Essentially, I am selling a engine & drivetrain worth $6500 all day, with a $2000 bus. If you don"t understand that or a little rust (that passed 2 inspections this current year) scares you, please don"t waste anyones time. Top suspects not obeying this are southerners or west coast people. Keep your search to your area if you are going to take close up pictures and send them to your mechanics that never seen rust before. The bus is in completely normal and acceptable shape for the area it"s in. If you are looking for a MINT duramax bus, keep looking, don"t waste my time, and expect to pay DOUBLE what I"m asking.
I just installed new front brake rotors and pads on it, everything else is tight on it. There"s no suspension noises or anything abnormal about it at all while driving. It shifts excellent etc. The ABS light is on most likely for a wheel speed sensor my scanner is not good enough to read the code but the brakes are very powerful it"ll stop on a dime if you slam the brakes, but will need a minor repair with the ABS light as the ABS motor goes off at certain times under light braking, again most likely just a wheel speed sensor.
Only accepted forms of payment are CASH or BANK WIRE TRANSFER. $500 paypal deposit if you buy it through ebay so I know you"re serious.
Please also know that I"m NOT in a rush to sell this bus. It is better than money in the bank as far as I"m concerned, I would still love to put a hitch on this bus and use it to tow my offroad buggy around. I am offering it for sale, for a ridiculously reasonable price considering the engine itself is worth 3/4 my asking price so if you are not sure this deal is for you please don"t waste my time.
