You are looking at a 2007 Blue Bird Express 4000 46-passenger charter bus. We purchased this at auction from the Dept of Homeland Security as an inop salvage vehicle. It was a former federal prison bus. The windows have vinyl on them that you can see out but not in, and it can be removed easily. It was sold miles unknown, and I cannot get the mileage to light up inside, but I have purchased several of these in the past few years and they have all had between 70 & 110K miles. It has good tires and the body is solid and in good shape. The interior looks clean and in good shape. When I bought this I put new batteries in it but could not get any power to the ignition. I did, however, jump the starter and got the engine running. It sounds good and runs smooth but since there was no power to the ignition, dash or any of the electronics, I could not get the push button transmission to engage and could not get the bus to move. Since the bus does start up and run, I"m guessing it"s something relatively simple with the electrical system and that the bus does drive, but I can"t be sure so I"m selling it as salvage for parts or repair. It is located at the auction in York, PA and will need to be towed from the auction. It has a 410HP Caterpillar C13 12.5L diesel engine and an Allison 6-speed push button transmission. The engine is worth $8,000 or more by itself, and there are many other good parts, or the bus could be fixed and sold for much more.
