Thomas Bus. Originally a Shuttle Bus at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The clean body shows that! Has been parked in the garage the majority of its life since we brought it to Michigan in 2016. We received a grant to update this bus, but had planned on another five years at least. The interior is a favorite of staff and students for playing games and conversation when traveling. The drivers seat has shown the impact of the years in the Florida sun. Needs reupholstered, but is a comfortable air ride seat. The shorter wheelbase makes it a great bus around town!It has a 3126 Caterpillar Diesel engine that runs like a top. Up to 9 miles/gallon. Runs effortlessly at 65 MPH. Will run over 70 MPH. We purchased this bus with only 29,000 miles on it. It is currently at 69, 449. SUPER LOW MILEAGE! It had a new a/c compressor in July of 2018. New rear-end right after we bought it. Tires are in good shape. It was DOT inspected in Feb 2020 for our annual Florida trip, which was canceled. Only ran a few hundred miles all year. It has been to Florida, Gatlinburg multiple times, as well as Montana, Washington D.C. It has never had an issue. Closet shelving provide handy overhead racks. There is room around the rear four seats for at least 20-25 suitcases. It has seating for 36, plus the driver.
