Vehicle description
This Sprinter van gets 20-24 mpg consistently, 18 City. With the Turbo Charger, performance is there when you need it, German engineering is at its best.
Here comes the latest van in the European footprint. Chrysler manufactures the Mercedes chassis with Dodge or Freightliner nameplates. Mercedes has been making diesel since the first 170D in 1937, with a pedigree in industrial, commercial and consumer markets. Just like 18-wheelers that dominate our freeways, these diesel rigs rack up 1M miles in a few years. Business owners look at the cost per mile or ton-mile. That"s why despite their high initial cost, these vans are so popular on the road today. True converts are die-hard diesel fans. These Sprinter models come in 18, 20 or 22 feet. The harder to find is the long WB like this one, which has a "High Top." It"s just big enough and not so difficult to drive and park as a Class A.
This van spent its life for Avon distribution delivery in Reno. Box is all insulated. It got its second engine and transmission at 400k miles. Suspension and differential service had been performed. Recent shop inspection shows injectors firing in balance, even pressure, passing smog. Title had been converted to Automobile so no weight fees would be due. It sleeps three vs. two with a shower. There are two water tanks. Bed is Queen mattress in high-density foam, with a couch that turns into a Twin bed. The foot of the main bed converts to a dinette. (A Toyota Sienna passenger seat is compatible, and would swivel around.) We like the spacious open feeling, vs. like living in a storage unit full of cabinets and shelves. A new electronic scanner comes with this rig for troubleshooting when you are on the road. Just like your home, after you own it with pride of ownership, you can add a multitude of gadgets, Wi-Fi, GPS, solar panels, inverter, converter, generator, iPod, music, TVs, cameras, mirrors, . . or whatever your interests are.
Our auction email is not always monitored. Local inspection by appointment. List your shipping bid on uShip and wait for last minute available space. Seller to cooperate with buyer"s shipper after full payment. Courtesy 30-day secured storage is provided. Pick up at the airport could be arranged for. Buyer is responsible for van insurance, title transfer and registration in your State.
