Vehicle description
Freightliner MT-35 Stepvan, 3.9L Cummins 170 ISBE Turbo Diesel with manual Eaton/Fuller FS4205A 5 speed transmission, DANA HD 3.54:1 single axle. All aluminum body, ceiling and floor. Living area is approx. 210" long, 90" wide, 78" high. Michelin XZE LT 225-70-R19 Load Range G 14 ply front steer tires and Firestone FD690 LT225-70R 19.5 Load Range G rear dual tires are like new, not many miles and 1 good spare. Tie rods, king pins, front rotors, rear calipers, alternator, heavy duty serpentine belt, commercial batteries, steering shaft and steering gear box replaced and drive line balanced. Approximately 342,163 miles. This truck should go to well over 500,000 miles with proper maintenance and repairs.
There are 3 new Breezeway Jalousie louvered side windows installed, 2 uninstalled, all other windows are good, doors all open/close and latch properly, mirrors are replaced with bus style large view. Exterior body condition with minor dings/scrapes as expected with the year and mileage. Flooring as seen in photos are part ceramic heat resistant tile where the design calls for a small wood heater/stove, and part tongue & groove planking, still in progress. We installed 4-1/2" insulation in the floor, including hydronic pex tubing for in-floor heat to work with the wood stove. The rear right floor and walls have high temp rigid board fiberglass insulation, cement board, finished heat reflector panels and 6" insulated chimney for wood stove use. No roof penetrations as the chimney is in custom enclosure attached to rear of truck, also space for spare tire and some tools as shown in pictures. Walls are installed with 4" insulation in the rear area where the wood stove will mount, and there may be sufficient insulation boards on hand to finish the walls. Some other materials on hand to go with project.
This truck was formerly a delivery truck. After purchased by the current owner, the truck ran and drove well for the past couple of years, including a trip moving from Ohio to Wyoming. However, recently the truck now starts but goes into limp mode. Local mechanics have not been able to fix the problem. If you know a Cummins or truck mechanic, they may be able to help you with determining the solution to the existing problem. There is a Cummins shop in Billings, MT, about 3 hours drive, and the truck is currently in Worland, WY. The truck likely will not drive away, and you should plan on towing or having it transported to the destination.
This is a work in progress, and the sale is AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranties, expressed or implied. This truck is also being advertised locally and if sold prior to the end of the auction, seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time. Please feel free to ask questions before placing your bid by calling Al at or Tom at 214-399-9758 (text OK), please leave a message if we are not able to answer the call.
Invoices on hand totaling over $25,000 spent on the project to date will be provided upon purchase. It was the owners dream that this RV would be able to provide comfortable living in any weather condition or season. Unfortunately, he can no longer continue due to medical conditions that prevent him from finishing the project. You can finish and add your own style to converting to an RV and benefit from his many hours of work up to this point.
