“Truck starts and runs well. Drives with no issues. Engine sounds great. Cab is clean (normal wear for year of truck). Box is in good condition with nothing broken on it (just dings from wear). Since it is a former government truck for the City of Los Angeles, it has received normal government-style excellent maintenance throughout its life (aka deep government pockets!).” |

Vehicle description
I just sold one of these trucks and I am listing this second one I own. The VIN is slightly different (the last three numbers are different) and the mileage is slightly different as well, otherwise, this is the exact same Peterbilt 330 that I recently purchased from the City of Los Angeles and that they single-owner owned since they originally purchased them in 2003 for their own use city use.
I had 15 watchers on the last one I posted for sale and it sold quickly. Therefore, if you want one of these rare and cool trucks, I encourage you to submit an offer sooner than later.
This customer Peterbilt box truck was used by the Los Angeles City Sanitation Department. The specific use of the truck was to drop off and pick up empty residential refuse and recycling cans from residences. Los Angeles made the job very easy for the sanitation engineers as they built this truck with the custom ability for the truck to, with the hydraulic modification, have the box drop to the ground when parked and then when moving, the driver can move the box back up off the ground with clearance to drive over speed bumps or any other normal driving impediments. It"s a very cool feature and perfect for anyone that wants to easily move cargo or anything in and out of the truck.
Caterpillar 3126E Engine Allison 2400 Transmission
Torque 210 @ 2200 RPM 202 @ 2500 RPM 520 @ 1440 RPM
Box Measurements: Interior Width: 99 inches Interior Length: 184 inches Interior Height: 107 inches Exterior Width: 103 inches Exterior Length: 16 feet Exterior Height: 123 inches (measured from the ground to the top of the box)
In addition to this truck being one of the best built trucks in the world as a Peterbilt, having low miles, and receiving regular maintenance since it"s a government vehicle, the box has a hydraulic lift which allows the driver to drop the box to the ground to make easy loading and unloading of product. So forget about the hassle of having a ramp on your box truck or having to use a cumbersome lift gate and balancing going up and down (if the life gate even works!). This is the ultimate box truck for loading and unloading items or even a moving rental truck (moving furniture, musical instruments, motorcycles, car parts, delivery truck, etc.). Message me if you"d like to see a video of the hydraulics in action on the box portion of the truck. Considering that Los Angeles City bought these Peterbilts brand new and had them modified with the hydraulic box use, this is a very expensive truck (I was told the City of Los Angeles paid $150,000 all in when these trucks were originally built for them), and at this price it is a serious steal! LMK if you have any questions. Thanks for reading and good luck in your online truck shopping!
