SPECS: - 2003 MCI J4500 - 596,422.3 Miles - 45 ft long - Detroit Diesel Series 60 12.7L, 370/400/430 HP - Allison B500 Transmission with Push Button Gear Selection and Optional Manual Selection - Air Brakes - Curb Kneel - Telescopic/Tilt Steering - PA System with Mic - Electric drivers mirrors - Cruise Control - Jake Brakes - 56 Passenger Seats in Great Shape (no tears or stains) - Handicap Accessible with Wheel-Chair Lift and Secondary Rear Door - Passenger and Driver Pull-Down Shades - Overhead Consoles With Individual Lights And Air Vents - Lavatory (no sink) - LED Lights
DETAILS: Bus was owned (obviously) by a private school system and maintained by their maintenance department until it was retired from service because of age (as is protocol with all school systems regardless of the condition of the bus). It was used as the school"s team bus.
The bus is a 45 foot long fully seated coach with a 56 passenger capacity. On-board PA/ media system including CD, DVD and VHS (finally you can use all those old videotapes in the bookshelf), 6 LED monitors, and driver control from the captain"s seat. The bus is already outfitted with Cradlepoint network equipment and you can probably call Cradlepoint and start an account to use the equipment. There is also a possibility (I haven"t taken it out to look) that you can insert a standard sim that is currently active and the equipment may be ready to roll as is.
After purchase, I personally drove the bus 328 miles on a variety of roads including freeways and mountains. The bus is a little slow going up the steep hills in TN and KY but other than that performed well.
