STORY: I bought this bus 4 years ago from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. They bought the bus brand new and I am the second owner. I love the bus and all the features. The trouble I am having is that this bus was built for California and not South Dakota. When it gets below zero the bus has a tough time keeping the passengers warm. When I bought the bus it only had one small rear heater and a front dual heater for the driver. I added two other heaters to the bus but the issue is the radiator fan runs at full speed all the time to keep the engine cool. Makes sense when you are in California and using the A/C system year round. Not great when it is -30 degrees in the middle of winter. My suggestion would be that someone should buy it does not get -0 degree temps. Call me if you want me to explain this better. It is a great starting bus in the cold weather as long as it is plugged in.
This Transicold A/C system is the same system they put in large charter buses. It has a thermostat and has no trouble cooling down the bus. I have never had a better A/C system in a bus.
This was built to be an activity bus so it has no problem going 65mph. Governor is set at 72mph. Would I drive it cross country? ? Definitely! I would have no problem sending one of my drivers on a long trip with this bus. It is currently in use as long as it is not too cold out. It also has a 100 gallon fuel tank so it is set up for long trips.
The chassis on this bus was greased every 3000 miles and oil was changed every 6000 miles.
Everything works as it should. Warn engine light comes on every now and then and when we hook it up to the computer it has an inactive code for fuel valve control (happens more often on really cold days). It does have a small oil leak behind the auxiliary oil filler cap. Those are the only two issues with the bus. It drives perfectly and we have been using it for school activities all year.
If you look at my feedback you can see that I do not sell bad buses. I am 100% upfront with all the information I have about the bus. I have sold three buses in the last two months. All three buyers were extremely happy. One went to California, one to Montana, and the third went to Pennsylvania. I personally delivered the bus to California for a fee. I am willing to deliver this bus as well for an extra cost.
This bus passed a South Dakota Highway Patrol School Bus Inspection in August of 2019 and is valid until August of 2020. It has to go though an inspection from them every year.
Front Tires are almost brand new.
Rear Tires are between 7/32 and 10/32. Still a lot of good life left in them.
Seats are in great condition with only a couple small tears.
All owner decals will be removed. They are just stickers. The bus has been stored inside for 99% of its life so the color on the bus is not faded.
Will deliver for a fee but bus must be paid for in full before we send the driver out for delivery.
"Buy it now" set at $22,500. Will deliver for Free in the 48 contiguous states if "Buy it now" price is selected or met during the auction.
