RELISTED DUE TO THE PREVIOUS BUYER NOT HAVING THE FUNDS TO SHIP THE TRUCK. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO PAY FOR OR GET THE TRUCK HOME TO YOU, PLEASE MOVE ON AND DO NOT WASTE MY TIME! !
Im selling a 2001 Mack RD688S Rolloff truck, Mack E7 Engine, RTOF 14908LL 8LL Transmission, Mack Camel Back Suspension, 11R24.5 Rubber, 121, 647 Miles, 5990 Engine Hours, Galbreath 60K 22ft Hoist, Model # U5-OR-174, Serial# H16821, Pioneer Rollmaster Rack N Pinion RP4500 Tarp system. We bought the truck last summer with intentions to use as a backup truck but have never needed it, so we are getting rid of anything we are not using. This truck was originally a municipal truck out of South Carolina, it has not been in the salt and the cab, frame, and hoist are RUST FREE. The miles are suppose to be original on the truck, has a new Power Steering Gear Box, all the lights and gauges work, wiper and heat works, A/C blows cold but sound like it might need a new a/c pump soon, New Cable and hook, the cylinders that run the cable have been rebuilt, one new tarp cylinder and the other has been rebuilt, Steer Tires are in good shape, Rear tires are in fair shape and very useable, 3 are caps and the rest are virgins. The old truck starts right up every time no matter how cold it is, engine runs very strong, doesn"t smoke and runs cool going down the road. Transmission shifts as it should with no issues, does not make any abnormal noises nor jump out of any gears, clutch feels strong, Brakes are in good shape, Front end is tight and drives straight down the road. The hoist works as it should with no issues as well as the tarp system and the tarp is in good shape. The interior on the old truck is in very good condition and clean for a 20 year old Rolloff Truck. The truck cab and hood have been repainted at some point, paint is not perfect but has a good curb appeal. Cab is rust free, hood is in very good condition and has not been busted up, Top of the cab has a couple of dents in it.
I"ve went over this truck with a fine tooth comb and here is a list of items I found that could be addressed. .
Driver side seat cushion could stand to be recovered.
A couple of the Injector EUP"S could use new O-Rings, they are seeping some oil
The Passenger side headlight needs a lens put in it. It still works, but is missing the lens
The wheel seals on the front drive axle are seeping. They are not pouring or slinging oil, but noticed the brake shoes were wet. They might dry up if you go to running the truck and could be seeping from sitting around.
The passenger side hoist cylinder is seeping a little oil, again might dry up as you work the truck.
The front end needs to be aligned. It was not aligned after they put the new steering box on it and it cuts sharper to the right than it does to the left.
One rear tire has a slow leak in it and will go flat after it sits for a few days.
I try to describe everything accurately and to the best of my knowledge and will not lie or try to mislead to make a sale. The truck is not new by any means and is a used piece, but I wouldn"t be afraid to put the truck to work daily. Ive looked at a lot of used rolloff trucks over the years and you don"t find many that are rust free, not beat all to pieces, and clean as this one. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
