About the car. . . .
Background. The car was built by John Vincent who at the time was with Matt Connolly Motorsports. Vincent then went on to his own Grand Am team (V-Pak). The cage was built by Victory Racing who has built many of the pro cages. A former co-driver, who is a mechanical engineer and shock tuner/re builder and who has set up and driven all of the Grand Am platforms including DP cars, believes that chassis wise this car is one of the best builds be has set up and raced. Despite being a 2 door coupe, it’s a stiffer platform than the 4 door 330s which is attributable to the cage.
Grand Am/Racing History
The car ran in Grand Am beginning in 2005 through 2010. The car was raced in 2010 for 6 or 7 races. The car has placed as high as 7th and generally has run in the top 10-15. In 2010, the car qualified 6th at New Jersey Motorsports Park. This is a good, well-sorted car that has run 1:24 @ Summit Point Raceway, WV - 2:12"s at VIR etc. . . pro racing results / photos have been gathered and on file.
Club Racing History
After it"s professional retirement the car club raced with AER and SCCA. . we purchased the car from a friend who was using the car as a safe and dependable HPDE car. We made a great deal of improvements to the car and have driven the car a handful of times in HPDE settings instructing for clients and friends.
The car has an AIM dash/data acquisition system including many sensors including brake pressure sensors. This data is invaluable in improving driving technique as well as diagnosing any car related issues should that be needed. The car has Grand Am spec Koni double adjustable shocks which have been recently rebuilt and are set up/valved for this car (and spring rates). Car has a BMW Motorsport hollow front sway bar and uses a stock rear bar. The car’s other features include: a race prepped motor which includes BMW Motorsports oil kit (pan baffle / oil pump / oil cooler), a Blanton race diff with 3:38 gears , new BMW 5sp transmission, spare BMW radiator, Sparco seat, Sparco belts, Apex ARC wheels with Toyo tires, Team Dynamics wheels with new rains, has harness for a radio, onboard fire system, push to start button.
