Vehicle description
2001 Blue Bird school bus was fully converted in the spring of 2017. It is a 40’ bus with a 5.9 Cummings puller with 114,000 miles. We built it to take on ragbrai and eight to ten people live on it for a week in July as we ride our bikes across Iowa. It is perfect for camping, tailgating or just loading your friends up and hitting the road for some adventures.
High Lights There are two 18,000 BTU mini split heat pumps to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter This bus has 90 gallons of fresh water so plenty of water for showers, flushing, and washing hands. The most people we have had on it is 14 sitting up front. There is storage under all of the seating up front. Fridge on board so you don’t have to mess with coolers. 10 gallon electric/gas water heat. Comfort height even toilet. Inside standup shower. Eight bunks for sleeping with plenty of storage for each persons belongings. The back five feet is garage/storage. It is big enough to put 8 bikes on the walls and a few coolers between them. This is all powered by an Onan diesel generator that is plunged into the bus fuel tank so you don’t have to fill more than one tank. The drive tires are in good shape the steer tires and the Alcoa wheels have about 2000 miles on.
I am sure I have left out several things but let me know if you have any questions.
