For Sale: 2000 Thomas School Bus with International 3800 Navistar Engine DT466 High ceiling in this Bus nice for RV conversion. More headroom. I am 6"2" tall and have plenty of head room.
The DT466E is the best engine possible. It is a 6 cylinder powerhouse with only 331K miles. Typically they are expected to go 550K before rebuild on these engines on average. This bus has been fleet maintained perfectly and is in excellent condition in all areas.
Good Batteries, bus starts right up and runs quiet and smooth. All tires are good. Just drove on the highway and it is smooth and strong with no issues. Allison Automatic transmission shifts smoothly. front and rear A/C both working. All the lights and safety items work as well. Only issue I could find is the air ride seat leaks down unless you hold the switch, needs attention. The wheelchair lift works perfectly. There are three spots for wheelchair tie down. Tie downs and seatbelts are included. Also Included are two extra seats from another bus. these are wider seats. one lefthand and one righthand for conversion to face eachother for an RV Table.
Titled in Florida Gross vehicle weight on title is 18500. Overall length is about 27 ft inside behide drivers seat to the back is about 20 ft. Easy to drive ready to go.
