Vehicle description
2000 Thomas Safe-T-Liner -Approx. 152k miles -Caterpillar 3126 diesel engine -Allison automatic transmission
-40" long -Two storage bays under passenger side -Master bedroom -Four children"s bunks w/storage underneath each -Receptacles in each bunk -8" long couch section with storage underneath -8" counter top w/drawer space -Pantry w/four shelves -Four storage cabinets on living room ceiling -50 amp box wired in for receptacles w/power cord
This is a fantastic school bus conversion. I bought the bus itself from Florida and drove it almost 900 miles home. The motor runs great and the transmission shifts well. I made all the modifications myself from start to finish. This bus was built with the intention of living in it full time with 5 children and a giant German shepherd. Which we did for a year prior to buying our house. We used patio cushions for the couch and I made mattresses out of foam mattress toppers. I would love to keep it but just can"t find the time to use it.
The bathroom area is unfinished but could be finished and used as a bathroom or small office area. (We used a camping toilet) I have the paint I was going to put on the exterior, burgundy wine and black, that can go with it. Otherwise the bus is under primer and ready for your paint scheme. This bus can be moved into full time with a weekends worth of work. Its completed enough to do the job or with some minor changes, it can be modified to your individual wants/needs. The bulk of the labor and build is done.
Electrical outlets throughout, lighting, insulation, laminate wood flooring, cabinets, storage. Exterior storage bays, approx. 4" long each, can be used for camping gear or tools. I also have a black-water tank out of an Rv that can go with it. I bought it along with the entry door and some cabinets that are currently installed.
My plans were to add a slide-out generator underneath on the drivers side along with a place for storing propane tanks for an Rv fridge/stove/furnace type setup. I would have liked to finish it out entirely with a fully functional kitchen and bath, but we found our dream home and decided to move. We used window AC units in the summer and a pellet stove in the winter and both worked great. We wanted to live full time in it on a parcel of land and farm, but the laws in our state make this very difficult. My hopes are that this bus goes to somebody with or without a family that enjoys living small and enjoys the outdoors. Please contact for additional photos or information.
