Vehicle description
PLEASE NOTE: This rv is located in Colorado Springs, CO and is sold "AS IS". It is for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Keep this in mind if you are purchasing remotely and can"t come look at it first. I"ll tell you everything I know about it (I purchased it in 2010 as 2nd owner). I"ll answer any questions as best as I can. Please see below for all issues that I know of.
This 2000 Dutchmen Express runs and shifts smoothly with a V8 5.7L engine which does not burn or leak oil.
Everything functions properly - fridge/freezer, water system, stove (no oven), microwave, generator, A/C (dash and cabin), furnace, monitors, dash indicators, cruise control, day/night window shades, etc.
It"s quite comfortable and roomy for it"s size with a 6ft couch which turns into a bed and a table for four which also turns into a bed though we usually slept in the spacious bed over the cab.
There is also quite a bit of inside storage with cabinets lining both sides and a closet with drawers to hang clothes.
It also includes a TV and CD/DVD player with custom speakers.
It"s compact size makes it easy to drive and it will often fit into parking spaces being the same length of some of the larger pickup trucks.
I change the oil every 3000 miles, even during trips.
I took out the old carpet and installed a one-piece vinyl flooring to make cleaning easier.
Other notes Probably the largest issue is a crack across the long, thin window in the front of the overhang. It"s been there for about 2 years and doesn"t appear to be a problem. Hit an animal in 2015. Replaced the A/C compressor, radiator and front grill. There were some water leaks on one side of the unit in 2015. We took it to Camping World and they put a skin across the entire side which stop any leaks. There are no other leaks that I know of. Awning works well but is starting to show some wear where it"s exposed to the sun when rolled up. Serviced the transmission at 62k. Replaced the fuel pump at 71k. Replaced the intake manifold gasket at 73k. Front and rear brakes, rotors and calipers at 73k. Mostly highway driving since then. New front shocks at 77k. Tires: Front tires installed at 77k. Two rear tires installed at 81k. Other two rear tires are older and have about half of tread left. (I don"t have receipt so I don"t know mileage.)
