This is my 2000 Chevy 3500 Dump Truck with 47,952 original miles. 4 wheel drive dual rear axle with Chevy 350 CI gasoline V-8. This truck starts and runs great, however it does have issues. It formally was a municipal vehicle with a salt spreader. So there is significant rust. I"ve had the dump bed frame rail reinforced so it does haul and dump, but there are holes in the bed and again, a lot of rust. Right now there is a hydraulic hose that needs replaced for the dump bed. Easily accessible. A fuel tank strap broke so I have a ratchet strap in its place right now and it will not go in reverse, I"m not sure if its a linkage issue or an actual transmission issue. I bought this truck to plow my driveway but I"ve since bought a bobcat, so I just don"t have much need for this truck and I"d like to minimize and make room. It has a large 8" plow and again, 4wd so it can be a beast in the snow. Inspection is current until august. Brakes are new all the way around as well as rear axle seals. New distributor, new fuel line, new brake lines, radiator was replaced a couple years ago as well as several other miscellaneous maintenance. It has some other quirks here and there, like fuel gauge isn’t accurate and the passenger door handle can act up, but its a 19 year old truck that has been put to work. It was great at keeping my mile long driveway open in all types of snow. It’d make a great farm truck and you could drive it home. Well, as long as you don’t have to use reverse.
