GENERAL DESCRIPTION- Two owners since purchased new. Layout 4 (w/Separate Toilet Room) and Sleeps 4 (Front Couch that Converts to Bunks). Purchased with many added options. Camper was mainly used 5-6 weekends a summer most of its life (Midwest) and t hen stored during the off-season. Always stored on jacks to keep pressure off the axle (more about that below). Unmolested, Original Condition Scamp. Has never had any modifications, customizations, or altered in anyway. Basically just how it came from the Scamp Factory. Perfect to camp As Is, or make it your own. Never had any damage, insurance claims, or accidents and comes with a Clean MN Title. Includes Original Order Forum from Scamp and All Original Paperwork, Receipt History, and Manuals. Floors and Frame are Rock Solid, Fiberglass has had no repairs and in good shape. Bearing recently serviced, and tows down the road wonderfully. Good, Honest Older Scamp Camper in one of the most sought after FloorPlans (Layout 4) . Hope someone has a good home for this one. Hey, keep reading, more to learn. . .
INTERIOR- The Interior is in excellent condition. Really, really nice for a used Scamp. Never any pets, and not even any children that I am aware of (I hope that changes). The factory cushions are in perfect shape with no stains or wear. Cushions are truly mint! Original Carpet is also in fantastic condition, with no stains or wear, except for one 2"x"2 spot right inside the entry door (See Photos, or Ask for More). Someone must have had something on their shoe, and may come out, maybe not. Otherwise Carpet is Fantastic. Interior wall lining ("Rat Fur") as Scampers Call It) is in excellent shape with no staining or wear, and looks nearly as good as the day it was new. Fantastic "Fur". Interior Fiberglass (Countertops/Cabinets) are perfect with no wear/cracks, shiny and vibrant. Wood Cabinetry and Cabinet Doors are is excellent shape and work great, no chips or damage to the wood or table. Has the factory Bi-Fold Screen Door Kit (great Shape). Stovetop in great shape with very limited use. Just went through all the interior Light bulbs, and all working A-OK. Many added Interior options checked when this Scamp was ordered (additional cost options), Including-Larger 4.6 cft Fridge (vs 2.2 cft, yep the big one), Propane Furnace, AC/DC Converter, Factory Screen Door, Bunk Kit, Added (Frosted) Window Over Range, City Water, Gray/Black Tanks, Water Pump, Rear Opening Rear Window (why didn"t more folks order this), Both Side Rear Cabinets, Cabinet Over Sink, Silverware Drawer, Additional Light over Sink, 2 Additional AC Outlets (one on each side of dinette and one in cabinet above fridge for a microwave or toaster oven), and Large Opening Skylight.
Interior- What Does It Need/Any Wear or Notes- Well, the Carbon Monoxide Detector was expired, so we tossed it out. Gonna need a new one of those. There is that one 2"x2" spot in the carpet just inside the entry door mentioned above. There is a hairline crack in the right Plexiglass of the Frosted window above the stove top. It"s hard to see, probably 6-7" in length. It has been sealed. Window is frosted so not something you look out of, never thought to replace it, but should be easy to do if you prefer. Scamp still offers this window. There is some tape/label residue on the left side bathroom door trim. Someone had some tape or something there holding something up, should be easily removed. It will likely need a new vent cover here after this season. Those usually last 3-4 years, doesn"t leak or anything, but it"s probably ready to be replaced after this season. (they get brittle, they be cheap). It was camped in last summer, but the one system we didn"t/don"t use is the fridge. It worked great a couple of summers ago, just has not been turned on since. The Furnace, Water Pump, and Stove were used just before it went into storage. Overall, the Interior is a nice place to be and excellent shape.
EXTERIOR- Fiberglass is in good shape, no cracks or repairs. Still holds a shine. Last year it was in to the shop and had a re-seal on the belly seam and windows, a number of rivet caps replaced, and the updated "Scamp" Door Seal installed. Scamp came out with a newer style rubber door seal a few years ago and works much better than the foam seal they had used. Seals great, but door takes a little more muscle to latch, very common until a few years go by and that new seal settles in. Many Scampers add a spacer on their door latch until the seal breaks in, but I don"t think this one needs it. Just takes a little more effort to get it closed, and after another season or two it will be fine. Rather have it tight in my opinion. It was just pulled from storage, so hasn"t had it"s Spring bath yet. I"ll leave that to you. It does have some label residue on the front left cap from some camping sticker that were applied at some point and removed. Many of the Rivet caps were replaced, a few of the old ones remain. But will send the new owner with a bunch of replacement Rivets and Caps in case they need them or want to replace. The Scamp was always stored on jacks in the winter to keep weight of the Axle. Sits nice and high, and axle is in great shape. If you ever see a Scamp that sits really low, it likely needs a new Axle. My rule of thumb, if you can see the entire wheel rim (not tire) outside/underneath the wheel well, your good (we have owned a few Scamps over the years, can you tell!). This axle looks near what it looked like when it was new, sith that way anyway. Tires are in excellent shape, as is the spare. Bearing were Also had a new Scamp Spare tire cover installed. Floor and Frame are Rock Solid. No Soft Spots, wood sub-floor is just perfect (See/Ask for Photos). Exterior Options Added- Black/Gray Tank, Front Hose Storage (yep, they all yellow like that), Battery Pack, Electric Brakes, Spare Tire Kit, Rear Jacks, Porch Light, Dual Propane Kit, City Water, and Factory Gravel Shield.
Exterior- What Does It Need/Any Wear or Notes- The Battery likely needs replacing. It worked fine last summer, but was starting to diminish charge quicker than usual, and probably should be replaced soon. Dual Propane tanks need filling. As mentioned above, could use a new vent cover, and that one crack in the plexiglass window. To be nitpicky, the door pull, the door hold (keeps the door held open) and door latch (Camper Chrome/Bright Work), show some oxidation/age (see photos). If I was to keep it would probably replace those (easily replaced and available from Scamp). Exterior Fiberglass is in good shape, no cracks or damage, just don"t expect a Perfect/Brand New Scamp (we won"t charge you well over 20k either), but overall for the year/vintage, very nice shape with just normal age/use. Was usually towed with flaps, so few if any any rock chips on front lower. Everyone Loves a Scamp, hope you will too! ! Did I mention, Ask For More Photos!
Wrap Up- Great, solid Scamp Camper. Not Brand New, But Very Solid, and Ready to Camp or Make It Your Own! Comes with a Clean Minnesota Title, Entry Key and Ready to Tow Out Of Here.
