Vehicle description
1999 blue bird tc2000. Condition is Used.
I drove this Big Blue Bird lady 14 hours up from Palm Desert 2 years ago, and she drives like a dream. I was originally planning to convert her to an RV to live and travel in, but life got in the way, and plans have changed. I gutted the inside to optimize space for insulation and wiring customization, and took out the wall that decided the rear storage compartment that originally housed Band and Sports equipment from the Citrus Community College in Glendale California, where she originally shuttled sports teams and bands.
This bus is a flat nosed 27 foot, with a front engine, accessible inside the cabin. Only 224227 Miles original on engine and tranny. Brand New Batteries. Excellent Condition Good Year Tires. 11r225 commercial 24 valve Cummins 5.9 Diesel Automatic Allison Transmission (a beast) Hydraulic Brakes, so anyone can drive it. Hydraulic Drivers seat (fun drive and can be turned off if ya want) Tinted windows. Heating system. Drives like an RV, with a narrow wheel base, and no kick out on turns. (I am 5"4", with little big bus driving experience, and it handles amazingly well with lots of visibility. Technically this is a TC2000 model charter bus on a Blue Bird School Bus Chassis, so it"s a little better built than an ordinary Blue Bird School Bus of its size, with thicker windows and more comfortability. Big Plus: Has a Regenerating DPF system to be Cal Legal per CARB compliance. (this mod alone is worth thousands) Big Plus again: driven in Southern California, so absolutely no rust or weather damage!
I have a can of Henry"s paint to paint the roof (enough to cover it) , which is a thermal layer that keeps heat from roasting the roof. (look it up if you"re not familiar) The back compartment is great if you want to build in a sort of "garage" with rear access. It is 4" deep, 8" tall and as wide as the bus (don"t have that measurement on hand)
I have disassembled the 2 AC units from the ceiling, but they are still attached to their units and can be placed anywhere in the bus or removed entirely. Also, there is a trickle leak from the batteries, but if you install a blocker for approx $100, this will be fixed. . very common in RVs and Boats. I have the brand new batteries unhooked right now.
Recently had my mechanic look at it, and test drive it, and it still runs like a dream, of course up hills she slows down a bit, but up to 70 easily on HWY trips, and takes turns amazingly well. contact me at eightone8- four3four-4356 : text is best
