Vehicle description
1999 BLUEBIRD
Sorry for the bad pictures- the bus is currently in storage.
Bus is 26" long, but the wheelbase is pretty short, which makes it easier to turn and park in tighter spaces.
This bus is pretty darn simple, done nicely, and is so much fun.
Power plant: 24 valve CUMMINS Diesel Allison Automatic trans Cruise control air powered door Air Brakes, Air bag suspension, and Air drivers seat! Good Tires 19.5" wheels bus does have a crack in drivers side of windshield.
Sleeping arrangement: Double size bed in the back of the bus with private door. brand new memory foam mattress Triple Bunk has two mattresses that are 72" long by 24" wide and the very bottom bunk is around 10" less in length but still 24" wide Front couch pulls out into twin size bed
Electrical: The bus does not have a generator or another power source Just simply plug an extension cord in at your camp spot and you have your fridge, TV power etc Most everything is 12v on the bus, the water pump, fan, the stereo, lights etc. we used AA powered tap lights that have magnets, so you can put them anywhere in the bus super simple. A Deep cycle battery is located in the battery compartment to switch to while parked. Then after a couple days you switch back to the Main big battery to start the bus up. Simple Bluetooth stereo with speakers mounted all the way to the back of the bus There is a 12V radiator style fan mounted in the Escape hatch on the ceiling of the bus to help air flow when needed
Water: 42 gallon tank mounted under the master bed. Shurflo pump to the stainless kitchen sink Portable propane hot water heater (never used) We have a 5 gal tank under the sink, we just empty when its almost full bus does not have a grey or black water tank
Kitchen: Stainless steel countertop mounted to a few standard size lower cabinets upper cabinets are famed with 2x"s and faced with plywood to fit the curve of the ceiling All drawers and doors have magnets to help them stay closed while driving Faucet is a black MOEN with spray option, which also reaches out the window a ways if needed outside. Fridge less then 2 years old
Bathroom: a "bathroom" doesn"t exist, just a spot for a portable toilet, which we never used, we just used the facility at whichever campground we were at. It was mostly used as a storage space.
Out door Kitchen area: Custom built compartment on the awesome huge side door with flip down counter The Big counter in the side door opening is easily removed if you need access in that door for anything Was used for a Butane cooktop
The bus Does not have AC or HEAT when the bus is off . We just bundle up, or use a little propane heater. An AC unit could easily be mounted to the roof of the bus if desired.
This bus is better then a school bus, the City bus windows slide left to right, and they also unlatch at the bottom and tilt out if wanted!
The Huge vinyl wrap on the bus is removable, and I believe its all white under the wrap. I did get some custom vinyl made to cover some of the sayings and details on the bus. Since it was no longer for business use (it used to have seats in it front to back and was a brewery tour bus in Colorado. The last two pictures are "before" I covered That stuff up. ( I covered the tours, tasting society, and small sayings near the top among others)
There is a 2 place fold down bike rack on the front of the bus along with a LED light bar.
Bus has quite a bit of storage, under the back bed, under and behind both front couches, and there is a pantry in the kitchen area. there is also little nooks in the kids bunk beds for books etc. Floor is painted white with a Boat Hull industrial paint. We have curtains for all windows that mount with magnets.
It also has AWESOME HEAT AND AC only when the bus is on. There is AC front and back, and the heat is great.
The bus does not have any leveling jacks, we just parked in on wood or a level spot at camp. One of the front air bags does have a leak so the bus settles about 2" in the front in 24 hrs or so/ then that"s where it sits.
