1997 Roadtrek 170 Popular Dodge Ram Van 2500 chassis 5.9 L V8 with overdrive. Tons of updates!
MPG rated at 13 city / 17 highway Amazing upgraded stereo system - new speakers, JVC DIN head unit, 5Ch amplifier, ported subwoofer – great for long road trips! Upgraded power system with solar - new charge control box, upgraded high capacity battery (200Ah vs 51Ah), flexible 140W solar panel affixed to roof with Xantrex charge controller, and 1500W inverter – great for dry camping where there are no hookups. Battery runs exhaust fan, lights, water pump, etc. and inverter provides 110V A/C.
Other recent improvements include: Brand new Dometic RM2351 2-way refrigerator with auto switching, auto start, works great! (see http:/ www.rvpartscountry.com/Dometic-RM2351-Americana-RV-Refrigerator.html) New marine toilet Upgraded kitchen faucet with pull out sprayer 4 brand new tires and all new wheel studs All new shocks and ball/U joints All new brakes New high capacity alternator New radiator New water pump and serpentine belts, belt pulleys cleaned Backup camera This model features a full sized rear bed. Keep the bed down permanently or it converts into a wrap-around couch for a table setup. An additional swing out table is located in front. Lots of quality Roadtrek storage cabinets. The kitchen is nicely equipped with a gas cooktop, refrigerator/freezer, sink, and microwave. Includes side door screen. The furnace has been tested and works great.
Items to note: h ouse A/C unit struggles if it’s too hot, may need recharge or service. Very small drip on kitchen faucet hose connector which is not a problem during normal use with the onboard water pump, however use of shore water is not recommended due to high pressure. Rear side windows currently sealed shut - we always used the other window screens for ventilation. Hot water heater is currently bipassed and may not be functional, but has not been tested. Some surface touch up paint has been applied to the exterior, and some age appropriate wear and stains are present.
Full Missouri mechanical and emissions inspection and A/C service/transmission/fluid flush completed in June. This unit is road ready and a perfect camping companion!
